JOB TITLE Director TN MH Housing
SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervision, management, and operation of Tennessee Adult Mental Health group homes and apartments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor's degree in mental health-related field required, Master's preferred.
Licensure: Must possess or obtain highest level of licensure applicable to degree.
Certification: Must possess or obtain highest level of certification applicable to position.
Experience: Experience with all sections of federal and state housing guidelines.
Knowledge/Skills: Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
Verbal/written communication skills.
EQUIPMENT:
Computer, fax, copier and any other equipment required to perform the functions of the position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLILITIES:
Selects, trains, disciplines and evaluates performance of employees.
Recommends pay adjustments for employees.
Organizes and schedules employee work activities.
Maintains a safe work environment by identifying and correcting potentially unsafe conditions and work practices.
Maintains a positive working climate within and across departmental functions.
Assist group home and apartment staff in understanding and complying with licensure and program requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assures ongoing development, implementation, and successful operation of program services in compliance with applicable state licensure, state contract, health and safety, and other agency policies and procedures.
May provide direct services to individuals and families.
Responds calmly and appropriately in crisis situations, implementing effective therapeutic interventions and strategies.
Remains current in knowledge of community agencies and resources, both internally and externally, and how to access resources in order to provide information, referrals, and a seamless system of care for individuals served by the program.
In coordination with Division Director, monitors the maintenance needs of group homes and apartments.
Monitors the financial status of program services and reviews financial reports to assure accuracy.
Keeps the respective Division Director apprised of both potential problems areas and outstanding performance.
Provide initial and ongoing orientation to new employees.
Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and inservices and individual program planning staffings as needed.
