Pay Range: $120-135/hr Salary: $250k-280k + Bonus
A large enterprise organization is continuing to modernize its technology ecosystem by investing in next-generation data platforms, enterprise architecture, and AI enablement initiatives. The team is seeking a forward-thinking technology leader who can help shape long-term enterprise strategy, influence executive technology decisions, and guide architecture across a complex organization. This is an opportunity to play a highly visible leadership role while partnering with executives, engineering leaders, architects, and business stakeholders to drive the organization's future technology direction.
Job Description:
The Director of Enterprise Architecture will lead the organization's architecture practice, driving enterprise technology strategy while mentoring a team of senior architects responsible for designing scalable, modern solutions. This leader will partner closely with executive leadership, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to establish architectural direction, guide digital transformation initiatives, and ensure technology decisions align with long-term business objectives. The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with strong technical credibility and the ability to challenge, coach, and influence experienced architects across the enterprise.
Required Skills:
• 12+ years of technology experience, including 7+ years leading enterprise architects, engineering managers, or other senior technical leaders
• Proven success defining and executing enterprise architecture strategy across large, complex organizations
• Strong expertise with modern architecture patterns including microservices, event-driven architecture, service mesh, data mesh, APIs, cloud platforms, distributed systems, and enterprise integration
• Experience leading architecture governance, technology standards, enterprise modernization, and digital transformation initiatives
• Ability to partner with executive leadership, challenge architectural decisions, mentor senior architects, and align technology strategy with long-term business objectives
Bonus / Soft Skills:
• Understanding of enterprise AI strategy, including AI adoption, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI copilots, and how AI influences enterprise architecture
• Experience leading highly senior technical teams within large, regulated enterprise environments such as healthcare or financial services
