About the Director of Tax & Compliance Opportunity

Our client is seeking a finance leader to oversee tax, regulatory compliance, treasury, audit coordination, and corporate risk management activities. This role will serve as the primary resource for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements while supporting the organization's financial governance and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities for Director of Tax and Compliance

• 
  
• Lead all tax-related activities, including federal, state, local, property, sales, and use tax compliance.
• 
  
• Partner with external tax advisors, auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• 
  
• Identify opportunities for tax incentives, credits, abatements, and other cost-saving initiatives.
• 
  
• Oversee government reporting requirements, compliance registrations, certifications, and regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions.
• 
  
• Support treasury functions, banking relationships, cash management activities, and financial controls.
• 
  
• Coordinate external audits and internal control reviews while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
• 
  
• Manage annual insurance renewals, risk management initiatives, and claims coordination.
• 
  
• Develop and improve processes, reporting tools, and compliance frameworks to support organizational growth and governance.
• 
  
• Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives across the finance organization.
• 
  

Qualifications for Director of Tax and Compliance

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required; CPA preferred.
• 
  
• 5+ years of progressive experience in tax, accounting, compliance, treasury, or corporate finance.
• 
  
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations, government reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• 
  
• Experience working with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
• 
  
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred; automotive experience is a plus.
• 
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high attention to detail.
• 
  
• Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools
•
