Position Summary

HCA Florida Osceola Hospital is seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the Surgical Services department. This role will oversee perioperative operations, support quality and patient safety initiatives, collaborate closely with physicians and executive leadership, and lead teams toward efficient, high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for Surgical Services, including Operating Room, Pre-Op, and PACU operations.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, department performance, and operational priorities.
  • Partner with surgeons, anesthesia leadership, and hospital executives to support surgical programs and patient flow.
  • Drive quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting, financial performance, and resource utilization.
  • Develop, mentor, and retain high-performing clinical teams and nursing leaders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Support strategic growth and development of perioperative services.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license required.
  • BSN required; MSN, MHA, MBA, or related graduate degree preferred.
  • Progressive leadership experience within Surgical Services/Perioperative Services.
  • Experience overseeing Operating Room operations; Pre-Op and PACU experience preferred.
  • Strong background in staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, physician collaboration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $120,000–$160,000 base salary, based on experience
