PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the characteristic duties and responsibilities noted herein, however, this list represents examples only, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions found in this job description: First Year Students; Provide leadership for student success strategies by working in cooperation with academic divisions; Partner with the Chair of Liberal Students in facilitating the new student onboarding and general core requirements to ensure a smooth transition for students to the College; Academic Support; Develop and oversee programming for academic support, including but not limited to coaching, tutoring, and workshops to increase student persistence rates and promote student success; Serve as a main resource for faculty, advisors, staff, and administration in handling student issues to reduce student attrition; Advising; Manage the advising model for both new and continuing students and work collaboratively with faculty and academic coordinators/advisors in addressing student advising and support needs to improve student retention; Develop and provide training for staff and faculty advisors to ensure a consistent advising experience for students; Disability Services; Develop and monitor 504 Accommodation Plans for students with learning disabilities to ensure access for students with disabilities; Provide training to faculty on how to best serve students with accommodations in the classroom, both online and on-ground to promote accessibility and success for students with disabilities; At-Risk; Oversee an early alert system for high-risk students and regularly report on high-risk students and status of interventions to improve student retention; Develop individualized academic intervention plans with students who are on academic watch and probation, and monitor student progress to reduce student attrition; Other; Serve on various committees as assigned to collaborate with other departments to promote student success across the College; Manage policies and procedures for Student Support Services and provide input to the broader academic division during program reviews in order to promote student success in college.
