Science
Standards
(NGSS),
NJSLS-Mathematics,

and
the
facilitation
of
Professional
Development.

understanding
of
AchieveNJ
evaluation
procedures,
educational
technology
integration
and
data-driven
instruction.

Strong
expertise
in
budget
preparation,

GOAL:
To
provide
strategic
leadership,
instructional
supervision,
and
administrative
direction
for
all
Science,
Technology,
Engineering,
Mathematics,
Computer
Science,
and
Business
programs
across
the
district.
The
STEM
Director
ensures
equitable
access
to
rigorous,
standards-aligned
instruction,
fosters
cross-curricular
connections
and
drives
student
achievement.
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional
Leadership
&
Curriculum
Administration
1.
Oversee
the
continuous
cycle
of
curriculum
development,
evaluation,
and
revision
for
all
STEM,
Computer
Science,
and
Business
courses,
ensuring
compliance
with
New
Jersey
Student
Learning
Standards
and
Next
Generation
Science
Standards.
2.
Lead
district-wide
initiatives
in
STEM
integration,
inquiry-based
learning,
mathematical
problem-solving,
digital
literacy,
and
STEM
education.
3.
Establish
and
monitor
course
pathways,
Advanced
Placement
(AP)
offerings,
dual-enrollment/concurrent
enrollment
opportunities
with
higher
education
partners,
and
career-aligned
STEM
tracks.
4.
Lead
vertical
articulation
efforts
with
constituent
K-8
sending
districts
to
harmonize
mathematical
sequences,
science
practices,
and
technology
readiness
for
incoming
9th-grade
students.
5.
Review,
select,
and
recommend
new
instructional
materials,
laboratory
equipment,
digital
software
platforms,
and
textbooks
through
formal
district
selection
protocols
and
Board
approval.
Staff
Supervision,
Evaluation,
&
Professional
Growth
1.
Conduct
formal
classroom
observations,
laboratory
inspections,
post-observation
conferences,
and
annual
summative
evaluations
for
STEM
certified
staff
in
compliance
with
AchieveNJ
and
district
policy.
2.
Direct
the
recruitment,
screening,
interviewing,
and
recommendation
of
qualified
candidate
teachers.
3.
Design
and
execute
professional
development
to
advance
district
goals.
4.
Promote
culturally
responsive
pedagogy,
differentiated
instruction,
and
integrated
support
strategies
for
all
learners.
Data
Analysis,
Assessment,
&
Accountability
1.
Direct
the
analysis
of
state
assessments,
College
Board
exams
and
district
evaluations
across
the
STEM
disciplines.
2.
Facilitate
Professional
Learning
Communities
(PLCs)
to
analyze
student
achievement
data,
identify
learning
gaps,
and
refine
instructional
strategies.
3.
Collaborate
with
the
Director
of
Special
Services
and
Director
of
Counseling
to
monitor
student
progress,
intervene
early,
and
support
RTI/504/IEP
accommodations.
Operational,
Fiscal,
&
Program
Management
1.
Prepare,
present,
and
administer
annual
operational
budgets
for
all
supervised
Mathematics,
Science,
Business,
and
Technology
departments.
2.
Oversee
state
and
federal
grant
applications,
implementation,
and
reporting
tied
to
STEM
or
related
topics.
3.
Manage
STEM
co-curricular
activities,
awards,
and
academic
competitions.
4.
Maintain
active
communication
with
parents,
community
stakeholders,
and
board
committees
regarding
departmental
goals,
achievements,
and
curriculum
updates.

the
Superintendent

Engage
in
continuous
professional
growth
by
staying
current
with
emerging
STEM
trends,
technologies,
and
educational
practices
development
to
support
continuous
growth

innovation

the
district.

Assist
building
administrations
with
student
supervisory
and
operational
tasks
when
necessary
to
ensure
a
safe
and
orderly
school
environment.
