Position Summary

The Antigo Unified School District is seeking a student-centered Director of Special Education to provide districtwide leadership for special education programming. This is an exciting opportunity to join a District experiencing significant growth following the successful passage of a $54 million referendum to build a new elementary school and a new Central Office-reflecting the community's strong commitment to public education.

Defined by success.-the Director of Special Education will work closely with a collaborative and supportive District administrative team and Board of Education to advance equitable outcomes and inclusive practices for ALL students, in alignment with the District's Strategic Plan.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for PK-12 special education services • Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws and regulations • Support high-quality, compliant IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring • Collaborate with principals, educators, related service providers, and families to promote inclusive practices • Use data to guide continuous improvement aligned to District goals and student achievement priorities • Oversee staffing, budgeting, and program effectiveness • Partner with district leadership during transitions to new facilities to ensure accessibility and inclusive design • Utilize Infinite Campus for student information and Skyward for fiscal and budget processes

Qualifications

Wisconsin DPI licensure in Special Education Administration (or ability to obtain) Demonstrated experience in special education leadership Strong background in effective and compliant IEP writing Knowledge of MTSS, inclusive practices, and continuous improvement systems Experience with Infinite Campus and Skyward preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
