Alliance Resource Group is partnered with a publicly traded, global technology manufacturer to find its next Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting. This leader will own the company's external reporting and serve as the go-to technical resource for complex transactions across a multinational operation. The role carries direct visibility with senior finance leadership and the Audit Committee, and shapes how the company communicates its results to investors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead preparation and review of all SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and proxy disclosures, with ownership of financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A
• Direct the quarterly earnings process, including press release financials, supporting schedules, and investor presentation content
• Research and document technical accounting positions for complex and non-routine transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity activity, and equity compensation
• Monitor emerging FASB and SEC guidance, assess its impact on the business, and brief executives and the Audit Committee on required changes
• Partner with external auditors to plan and execute an efficient quarterly review and year-end audit cycle
• Maintain strong SOX controls over the external reporting and technical accounting processes
• Build, mentor, and develop a team of reporting and technical accounting professionals
• Collaborate with Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and international finance teams to ensure accurate and consistent global reporting

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Active CPA license
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial SEC reporting and technical accounting work
• Deep working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including Regulation S-X and S-K
• Experience drafting technical accounting memos in areas such as ASC 606, 842, 718, 815, and 805
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing accounting teams
• Clear, confident communicator with the presence to advise senior executives and the Audit Committee

Preferred:

• Big 4 public accounting experience
• Background with a multinational manufacturer or technology company, including foreign currency and multi-entity consolidation
• Experience with M&A integration or capital markets transactions
• XBRL tagging and review experience

SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE

• Workiva (or comparable SEC reporting platform)
• Large-scale ERP environment such as SAP or Oracle
• Consolidation tools such as OneStream, Hyperion, or similar
• Advanced Excel
