Director of Sales Marketing

Lifestyle Hotel | Texas | On-site

Base salary target: $175,000 - $205,000, plus quarterly sales incentive and relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits package.

Doyen Search Group has been engaged to conduct a national search for a Director of Sales Marketing for a distinctive lifestyle hotel in Texas. This is an opportunity to shape commercial strategy, develop a talented sales team, and make a measurable impact in a competitive hospitality market.

Reporting to the General Manager and serving on the Executive Committee, you will lead sales and marketing across transient, group, catering, and events. You will partner with corporate sales, revenue management, and marketing specialists, bringing your own perspective to how the hotel wins business and strengthens its market presence.

The Opportunity

Your greatest contribution will be developing the team: coaching individual sellers, sharpening their approach, and creating the accountability that turns strategy into results. Alongside that leadership responsibility, you will manage a defined territory or key accounts and represent the hotel with clients, community partners, and industry leaders.

What You Will Lead

• Team development: Coach sellers through regular one-on-one meetings, strengthen performance, and lead hiring, training, and retention.

• Commercial strategy: Use demand, market-share, rate, and business-mix data to identify opportunities, set priorities, and explain results.
• 
  
• Sales execution: Build disciplined outbound prospecting, improve conversion, and deepen relationships with corporate clients, travel partners, and event planners.
• 
  
• Profitable growth: Expand transient and group revenue while protecting average rate and securing business with the right timing, booking patterns, and mix.
• 
  
• Catering and events: Develop local catering opportunities and support effective coordination, accurate event planning, and successful execution.
• 
  
• Marketing and market presence: Guide initiatives with corporate specialists, build local partnerships, and communicate confidently with ownership and senior leadership.

What You Bring

• 
  
• At least five years of hotel sales and marketing experience, including three years as a hotel Director of Sales Marketing.
• 
  
• Demonstrated success coaching sellers and improving team results.
• 
  
• Strong analytical judgment and the ability to translate commercial data into practical action.
• 
  
• Proficiency in Demand360, Agency360, Delphi Salesforce, and Microsoft Office 365.
• 
  
• Credible client relationships, strong presentation skills, and a collaborative leadership style.
• 
  
• Current, unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• 
  

Previous experience in catering and conference services is preferred. Candidates will be evaluated on their combined strengths, commercial accomplishments, and leadership potential, with room to develop selected aspects of the role.
