The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Manager to lead and develop the company's sales organization while helping drive its next phase of growth.
This is a key leadership position for someone who brings strong bioprocessing industry knowledge, proven commercial sales leadership, and the ability to develop people, strengthen sales execution, and identify new business opportunities.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, forward-thinking leader who can evaluate existing sales strategies, introduce new ideas, and build a high-performing, accountable sales organization.
Experience working in both larger corporate environments and smaller, entrepreneurial businesses is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop the sales team, establishing clear performance expectations, individual goals, and accountability.
Develop and execute sales strategies focused on revenue growth, new customer acquisition, and expansion within existing accounts.
Direct day-to-day sales activities while providing strategic leadership to support long-term business objectives.
Evaluate and improve sales processes, pipeline management, forecasting, territory planning, and CRM utilization.
Establish sales targets, monitor individual and team performance, and implement initiatives to improve results.
Partner with marketing to strengthen lead-generation efforts and identify new market opportunities.
Collaborate with operations, technical teams, and senior leadership to align sales activities with overall business objectives.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term growth.
Lead the recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of sales team members.
Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, projections, and performance reports.
Support distributor and channel relationships, including sales policies and procedures.
Represent the organization at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of 7 years of sales experience, including at least 5 years of sales leadership experience.
Strong experience within the bioprocessing, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, or closely related life sciences process technology industries.
Proven experience directly managing commercial sales teams with responsibility for revenue growth and sales performance.
Demonstrated success developing and executing sales strategies, growing market share, and achieving business objectives.
Strong understanding of sales forecasting, pipeline management, CRM systems, and performance metrics.
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on sales leadership and execution.
Willingness to travel to customer locations, including overnight travel as needed.
Ability to work onsite in Smithfield, Rhode Island, a minimum of three days per week.
Preferred:
Experience with bioprocessing technologies and equipment, including single-use systems, fluid management, filtration, bioreactors, or related manufacturing solutions.
Experience working in both large corporate organizations and smaller, entrepreneurial environments.
Success implementing or improving sales processes, developing sales teams, and driving organizational growth.
Established knowledge of biotechnology, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, and related customer markets.
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
