Job DetailsDirector of Safety
We’re looking for a seasoned safety professional to champion and enhance our safety culture across all field operations, projects, and support teams in Phoenix, AZ. This senior role calls for a construction-savvy leader who can collaborate with operations managers to establish practical, consistent, and accountable safety standards. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in construction safety leadership role, excellent communication abilities, and the presence to influence personnel at every level while safeguarding our employees, clients, and project success.
Key Duties:
- Shape and oversee the organization’s overarching safety strategy and daily safety activities for construction and field crews.
- Create, roll out, and evaluate safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Perform site inspections, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring timely corrective action.
- Work closely with project and operations leadership to minimize risk and elevate compliance.
- Monitor safety metrics, analyze trends, and present findings to senior leadership.
- Guarantee compliance with all relevant safety regulations and internal standards.
- Support onboarding, toolbox talks, and continuous workforce safety education.
- Cultivate a forward-looking safety culture that blends accountability, productivity, and genuine care for people.
Background:
- 5+ years’ experience in construction safety leadership at a Director or equivalent level or above.
- Demonstrated success leading safety programs in field-oriented or project-based settings.
- Solid grasp of OSHA regulations and general construction safety best practices. (OSHA 500 or 510 preferred)
- Track record in investigations, audits, and enforcing corrective measures.
- Spanish speaking highly preferred
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or OHST are advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, construction management, or a related discipline preferred.
