    Join Our Team at Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc.

    We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Revenue Cycle to lead revenue cycle operations across Valley-Wide Health Systems. This role provides leadership and oversight of revenue cycle performance while supporting financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations across our organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Revenue Cycle Leadership

    • Lead organization-wide revenue cycle strategy and operations
    • Monitor key performance indicators, including A/R, denial rates, clean claims, collections, and encounter-to-cash performance
    • Identify opportunities to improve reimbursement, reduce denials, and strengthen revenue cycle processes
    • Support revenue cycle budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial goals

    Billing, Coding & Compliance

    • Oversee registration, insurance verification, sliding fee assessments, coding, billing, claims, payment posting, and collections
    • Ensure compliance with FQHC PPS, HRSA, Sliding Fee Discount Program, Medicare, Medicaid, CMS, HIPAA, and payer requirements
    • Oversee billing and coding processes across Family Practice, Behavioral Health, Dental, Optometry, Physical Therapy, and other service lines
    • Partner with Compliance on coding, documentation, and internal audit activities

    Team & Operational Leadership

    • Lead, develop, and evaluate revenue cycle teams across departments and clinic locations
    • Establish clear productivity, quality, and performance expectations
    • Provide education and guidance to staff and providers on documentation, coding, and payer requirements
    • Collaborate with Clinical, Operations, Finance, IT, and Compliance teams to improve workflows and charge capture

    Systems, Payers & Analytics

    • Support optimization of NextGen EHR and Practice Management systems
    • Oversee provider credentialing and payer enrollment
    • Maintain relationships with Medicaid MCOs, Medicare, commercial insurers, and other payers
    • Develop and present revenue cycle dashboards, trends, and performance reports to leadership

    Requirements

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required; master's degree preferred
    • 7-10 years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle experience, including at least 5 years in a director-level or senior leadership role
    • Experience managing revenue cycle operations in a high-volume healthcare environment
    • FQHC or ambulatory healthcare experience highly preferred
    • Professional certification such as CRCP, CPB, CPC, CHFP, or FHFMA preferred

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Strong knowledge of FQHC PPS reimbursement, Sliding Fee Discount Program requirements, and HRSA guidelines
    • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, CDT, DSM-5, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements
    • Experience with electronic billing systems, clearinghouses, practice management systems, and EHR platforms such as NextGen
    • Strong analytical, financial, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to effectively lead teams and collaborate across departments

    Location & Type of Job: This is a full-time, onsite position based in Alamosa, Colorado.

    Valley-Wide, a Community/Migrant Health Center (C/MHC), is a private non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation governed by a volunteer community board. Established in 1976, Valley-Wide has numerous primary health care delivery sites strategically located throughout multiple rural counties in Southern Colorado. These full-service clinics are complemented by several dental and physical therapy clinics, along with ancillary health services to address routine and/or complex needs of the patient populations and communities served. Along with multiple outreach programs, Valley-Wide also oversees a Farmworker Health Service Program that provides vouchers to patients in areas of the state that do not house C/MHCs.

    Valley-Wide serves all ages through a family practice focus approach. Emphasis is placed on assisting the patient, reducing barriers such as cost, culture, language, literacy, and transportation that may hinder use of appropriate health care services.
