    Description

    A hospital in Houston, TX is seeking an executive-level Director of Rehabilitation Research for its Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Division. This is an on-site leadership role requiring the ability to service the greater Houston area, with up to 20% travel expected. Visa sponsorships are not supported, and relocation assistance is not available.

    The role. The Director will provide strategic and administrative oversight of the SCI Division's research program, leading scientific portfolio management and driving federal grant development and funding strategy. The position carries responsibility for research design, data analysis, and the advancement of peer-reviewed scientific publications. The Director is expected to function at the level of a principal investigator while also guiding programmatic direction and operational leadership across the division.

    What we're looking for.

    • Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
    • Demonstrated experience in federal grant development and funding strategy
    • Minimum 7 years of administrative experience as a program director, department head, and/or principal investigator
    • Proficiency in research design, data analysis, and scientific peer-reviewed publications
    • Experience in scientific program and portfolio management

    Compensation. $143,000 - $180,000 per year
