What Will You Do as Director of Rehabilitation?

As the DOR at Berks Heim, you'll provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the rehabilitation department while continuing to keep quality patient care at the center of what you do.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and supporting the PT, OT and SLP rehabilitation team
Overseeing daily therapy department operations
Coordinating staffing and patient caseloads
Promoting strong communication and teamwork among clinicians
Collaborating with facility administration, nursing and interdisciplinary leadership
Supporting quality clinical care and positive resident outcomes
Monitoring documentation, regulatory compliance and operational expectations
Helping identify staffing needs and partnering with Recruitment when openings arise
Onboarding, supporting and developing rehabilitation team members
Addressing day-to-day department challenges and finding solutions
Maintaining positive relationships with residents, families and facility partners
Providing patient care within your COTA or PTA scope of practice as appropriate
Helping create a department where clinicians feel supported, valued and accountable

COTA or PTA? Your Clinical Background Matters.

We specifically welcome candidates with a background as a:

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
or
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Your clinical experience gives you an understanding of what therapists need to be successful because you've been there yourself.

You understand productivity expectations, documentation, changing caseloads, difficult days, great outcomes and the importance of having a leader who supports the team.

What We're Looking For

Current Pennsylvania COTA or PTA license
Rehabilitation experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead, motivate and support a multidisciplinary rehab team
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Understanding of rehabilitation documentation and clinical operations
Collaborative approach with facility and interdisciplinary leadership
Commitment to resident-centered care
Previous DOR, management, supervisory or leadership experience is preferred, but strong leadership potential will also be considered
