Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of Rehabilitation Services ensures high quality, patient-centered care through 24/7 responsibility for the performance and results of multiple sites and/or multiple functional areas.  The Director is responsible for community, interdepartmental and intradepartmental integration of departmental patient-care services. The Director is responsible for the operation of the departments to include management and coordination of clinical activities, fiscal management, and quality patient care. The Director shall assume overall responsibility for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the departments. The Director shall perform all job duties and tasks in accordance with national and state professional governing guidelines and state practice act, rules, and code of ethics.

• Communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders regarding rehabilitation services offered.

• Participate in utilization review, quality assurance, community education planning, and rehabilitation conferences.

• Manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost. Ensure a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.

• Participate in the annual budget process, including input into department revenue and expense forecasts, staffing, and supply and equipment needs. Monitor department budget performance; identify trends and evaluate variances in relation to established budget. Develop and implement actions to address performance gaps.

• Leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction. Develop and implement strategies to elevate the patient experience.

• Identify development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams. Provide coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance.

• Identify opportunities for expansion or development of new services and product lines to promote growth. Identify stakeholder engagement strategies, technology advances, and other opportunities to drive differentiation and increase volume.

What qualifications you will need:

• Master of Science or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy or a Master of Science or Master of Arts in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited institution required.

• Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (MSHA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

• Licensure as a Therapist in the State of Tennessee required.

• 3-5 years of healthcare leadership/management experience in acute care required.

• Inpatient rehab experience strongly preferred.

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is a 740+ bed comprehensive facility. We offer medical and surgical programs. These include behavioral health and 24-hour emergency. These also include heart and vascular and imaging. These also include neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, rehabilitation, sleep disorder, and womens services. We are an affiliate of TriStar Health. TriStar Centennial Medical Center is a 43-acre campus. We are home to TriStar Centennial Heart & Vascular Center. We are home to TriStar Centennial Womens Hospital. Our campus includes The Childrens Hospital at TriStar Centennial, Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, TriStar Centennial Advanced Joint Replacement Institute, TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion, as well as a 15-bed inpatient rehab unit opening in late 2027.
