We are looking for a Director of R&D for Electronics and Software. This position will be based at our Peachtree Corners, GA location. You will lead product and technology development for electronics, embedded software, systems, and testing that enable reliable, cutting-edge residential and commercial circuit protection and electrical distribution products. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, partner with Product Management on product and portfolio roadmaps, and balance technical feasibility, product cost, manufacturability, compliance, and future revenue. This primarily onsite leadership role also oversees the Peachtree Corners electronics lab and collaborates with test facilities in Tucker, GA. You'll make a difference by: Lead product development across electronic hardware, embedded software, systems, architecture, and test teams for circuit protection, controllers, and electrical distribution products. Lead solutioning of tough technical challenges at the hardware, software, and systems levels. Partner with Product Management, manufacturing, standards organizations, and other stakeholders to translate product needs into feasible roadmaps, prioritize projects, and support internal and external customers with technical expertise. Drive products that support future revenue, lower costs, improve manufacturability and market position, and meet industry, regulatory, and utility requirements, including applicable UL, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, CSA, and NEMA standards. Manage R&D resources, managers, and individual contributors to maximize delivery, retain critical domain expertise, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and maintain an engaged technical organization. Own annual cost center, staffing, project, people, material, and capital planning while evaluating product feasibility, resource tradeoffs, cost structures, and financial metrics. Oversee the Peachtree Corners electronics lab, including modern test equipment, safety practices, and standards-aligned test procedures, while coordinating product evaluation and certification with the Tucker test facilities. You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or other related Engineering degrees. 10+ years of experience in the electrical power products industry including residential power control systems. 5+ years of experience with the following: Leading and motivating technical professionals and large multidisciplinary matrixed teams spanning electronic hardware, embedded software, systems, and testing, including resolving complex technical and cross-functional issues. Strong knowledge of electrical circuit protection products and solutions, product and system architecture, electronic component manufacturing, embedded processors, and wireless technologies. Leading the solutioning of tough technical challenges at the hardware, software, and systems levels.
