Essential Job Functions

  • Standardize Global Safety Program and establish into all operations
  • Establish safety training, equipment maintenance and forklift training tracking mechanism
  • Ensure Dangerous goods regulatory compliance in all countries and modes of transport. Maintain non-conforming commodities list
  • Supports development and maintenance of the company's safety vision, objectives, strategies, policies, and procedures to continuously improve and grow the company's safety culture
  • Creates and implements programs that ensure a safe workplace, including near miss programs, safety audits, safety orientations, skills training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material procedures, and the distribution and use of personal protective equipment
  • Drives continuous improvement of safety behaviors and outcomes by delivering methodologies and tools to effectively mitigate identified risks
  • Develops a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of incidents and crashes and generate required reporting
  • Drives accountability for performance through company leadership, and associates
  • Oversees and guides the safety performance programs and drives leading performance indicators through a safety dashboard and metrics
  • Implements initiatives to reduce and prevent incidents and injuries
  • Ensures operations are sustainable and compliant with company goals, regulatory standards, industry standards and other safety requirements
  • Visits jobsites and work areas to support implementation of hazard identification and control plans and confirms compliance to Federal / State OSHA and company standards
  • Champion a culture of safety throughout the organization, promoting open communication and fostering a sense of shared responsibility for quality, health and safety
  • Develop and deliver quality, health and safety training programs to engage employees and encourage the proactive reporting of safety concerns
  • Establish and lead safety committees, facilitating cross-functional collaboration to drive safety initiatives and address quality, health and safety challenges
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive quality, health and safety strategy aligned with Cranes core values and objectives
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, federal, and industry specific quality, health and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant standards
  • Continuously monitor regulatory changes and adapt quality, health and safety strategies to maintain compliance
  • Develop and maintain incident reporting and investigation procedures, emergency response plans, and crisis management protocols
  • Collaborate with local authorities and emergency services to ensure readiness for incidents
  • Utilize data-driven insights to assess the effectiveness of quality, health and safety programs, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement in quality, health and safety practices
  • Develop and maintain a robust quality, health and safety reporting system, ensuring transparency and accessibility of quality, health and safety data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Implement initiatives based on data analysis and feedback, striving for quality, health and safety excellence
  • Develops policies, programs and initiatives to improve the culture of safety and quality of organizational processes and services
  • Establishes quality improvement project teams and oversees progress and results
  • Develops new and advanced tools, methods and systems to ensure quality improvement throughout the organization
  • Drives compliance to "Living the ISO Way"
  • Effective use of quality tools such as LEAN, Zero Defect Programs, Six Sigma, Kaizen, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in Project/Program management, portfolio management methodologies and tools
  • Strategy and planning: must possess an ability to think ahead and plan over a 12-24 month time span as well as strong client orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to travel throughout facilities as required to conduct quality and safety inspections

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in quality and/or safety management or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years supervisory or managerial experience preferred
  • In depth knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with ISO, LEAN, Zero Defect Programs, Six Sigma or other quality management methodology preferred

Certifications and Licenses

  • Total Quality Management, LEAN or Six Sigma certification is preferred
  • At least one safety certification such as CDS, ASP or CSP is preferred
