Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all purchasing and procurement operations.
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies to improve efficiency, profitability, and supplier performance.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiate competitive pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining product quality and availability.
- Oversee inventory management, purchasing forecasts, and material replenishment strategies.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to support operational and customer demands.
- Evaluate supplier performance, pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Utilize ERP and procurement systems to monitor purchasing activities, inventory, and supplier performance.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, operations, sales, and warehouse teams to align purchasing strategies with business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop purchasing personnel while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Monitor market trends, material costs, and supply chain risks to support strategic purchasing decisions.
- Proven purchasing or procurement leadership experience within the building materials industry.
- Experience purchasing doors, windows, millwork, or similar construction materials strongly preferred.
- Established vendor relationships and industry connections are essential.
- Strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Demonstrated success reducing purchasing costs and improving supplier performance.
- Experience overseeing inventory management, purchasing forecasts, and material delivery schedules.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and purchasing/procurement software.
- Strong analytical, financial, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and collaborate with senior executives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Extensive purchasing leadership experience in the doors, windows, millwork, or building products industry.
- Established relationships with building materials manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
- Experience directing purchasing operations in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory optimization, supply chain management, and cost-control strategies.
- Experience developing procurement strategies, managing purchasing budgets, and implementing process improvements.
