Director of Purchasing & Sourcing
Location: Valencia, CA | On-site
A consumer products company is seeking a hands-on Director of Purchasing & Sourcing to lead global procurement across raw materials, components, and finished goods. This leader will strengthen international supplier partnerships while improving cost, quality, and supply reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a global sourcing strategy aligned with product plans and financial goals.
- Identify, qualify, and manage manufacturing partners across international markets.
- Lead supplier negotiations, contracts, performance reviews, and factory assessments.
- Deliver cost savings while protecting product quality and continuity of supply.
- Partner with product development, quality, planning, and logistics teams on new products and delivery needs.
- Lead the purchasing team and use ERP data to track supplier performance, lead times, and spend.
- Maintain ethical sourcing practices and compliance with applicable trade requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field; advanced degree or supply chain certification preferred.
- At least 10 years of procurement and sourcing experience, including five years in senior leadership.
- Experience with global manufacturing partners, particularly in Asia.
- Background in apparel, safety products, consumer goods, or related manufacturing preferred.
- Strong negotiation, financial, team leadership, and ERP skills.
- Ability to travel internationally.
