As a mid-sized organization, they are known for their commitment to delivering exceptional results and fostering a professional environment.Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, the Director of Project Management & Preconstruction will provide leadership across project delivery, preconstruction, financial performance, and team development. This role combines hands-on project oversight with broader departmental leadership.Responsibilities include:Leading the delivery of large-scale commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.Acting as the senior escalation point for project teams, supporting Project Managers across the portfolio.Managing and developing Project Managers while providing operational leadership to estimating, buyout, and scheduling functions.Overseeing preconstruction activities, including estimating, scope development, budgeting, constructability reviews, and procurement strategy.Driving financial performance through budget management, forecasting, change order administration, risk mitigation, and margin protection.Establishing and maintaining project management standards, reporting procedures, and operational best practices across the organization.Championing schedule performance, quality assurance, safety excellence, and strong client relationships throughout project execution.The successful applicant will have:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.10+ years of progressive commercial construction experience with demonstrated leadership on projects valued at $20M+.Previous experience leading, mentoring, and developing Project Managers and project teams.Strong understanding of commercial construction operations, project controls, contract administration, and risk management.Experience implementing and improving processes across project delivery and preconstruction functions.Advanced proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and digital project management tools.Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and change management processes.Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.OSHA 30 certification, or willingness to obtain shortly after joining.Preferred experience overseeing preconstruction or estimating teams and working with sophisticated institutional or developer clients.LEED accreditation or sustainability-related credentials are advantageous.What's on offer includes:Base Salary $120,000 - $160,000Annual performance-based bonus opportunity.Car allowance.Sign-on bonus.Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.Employer-paid medical coverage for employees.401(k) program with company matching contribution.Paid time off package.Significant leadership visibility and direct partnership with executive leadership.Opportunity to shape project delivery standards, develop future leaders, and influence the growth of a respected commercial construction organization.
