    OPSWAT

    Protecting the World's Critical Infrastructure

OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world's critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.

    The Position

This is a hands-on, business-owner product leadership role, not a pure strategy or coordination seat. An experienced product manager reports to you, with full people responsibility, and dedicated cloud engineering teams partner with you daily. You operate like a general manager, fluent in packaging, pricing models, and metering, and conversant in NDR and GDR. You understand the whole business, from sales enablement and marketing through inbound and digital motion to field events and channel partners, and hold every investment to a strong ROI. You also carry the platform responsibility everything else depends on: performance, availability, migration, and cost. You bring an AI-first mindset, leveraging AI in the day-to-day work of the team to maximize efficiency and output.

Join a pre-IPO, global cybersecurity leader at the forefront of innovation. We protect the unseen - the infrastructure that powers our way of life. OPSWAT protects the world's critical infrastructure across IT, OT, and ICS environments, trusted by more than 2,000 organizations, governments, and institutions worldwide.

We are seeking an exceptional product leader to own the vision, strategy, and execution of MetaDefender Cloud, the verdict as an API. Enterprises, governments, and technology partners send it files and get back a decision they can trust ("is this file safe to admit?") at any volume. This is business ownership of a trust-critical enterprise cloud: the commercial ladder from self-serve developer entry to a top tier for regulated buyers, and everything that makes it credible, from contractual SLAs, availability, and failover to compliance, cost efficiency, and a platform other OPSWAT services build on. You will grow the business through product-led motion, cloud marketplaces, distribution channels, and a Technology Partners program that makes joining our ecosystem a product action, not a sales project.

MetaDefender Cloud delivers OPSWAT's prevention technologies (multiscanning, Deep CDR Technology, and AI-driven analysis) as a cloud service, and is the shared platform behind a growing family of OPSWAT cloud offerings. This role owns that business end to end:

    • The Prevention Ladder: one coherent tier ladder from self-serve developer entry to full enterprise, sold to one buyer who moves up as throughput and analysis depth grow.
    • The Regulated Enterprise: the top of the ladder: dedicated capacity, the strictest SLAs, large-file support, and a strict data-privacy and data-handling posture for regulated industries.
    • A Resilient, Compliant Cloud: reliability as a product, with availability targets, failover, recovery objectives, multi-region resilience, and certifications such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2 that make trust a reason to buy.
    • The Platform Behind OPSWAT's Cloud Services: one API and platform that web proxy and ICAP protection, MetaDefender Secure Storage, email security, MetaDefender for Salesforce, and the threat-hunting tier build on.
    • Performance & Cost Efficiency: industry-leading speed to verdict, and a cost-per-scan discipline that protects margin as volume grows. You own the unit economics.
    • Technology Partners & Developer Ecosystem: the program for engine partners who strengthen detection, integration partners who put our verdict where security teams work, and developers who build it into their own products.
    • Marketplaces & Distribution: taking the product where buyers already purchase: cloud marketplaces such as AWS and Azure, distribution channels, and reseller partners, plus new offerings, such as MetaDefender Private for dedicated deployments, as the market demands.

    What You Will be Doing

    • Own the business: define and champion the vision, strategy, and roadmap for MetaDefender Cloud, and be accountable for growth, adoption, and commercial outcomes.
    • Own reliability as a product: make contractual SLAs (latency, availability, and recovery objectives) the standard across every tier, and drive high availability, automatic failover, and multi-region resilience from roadmap to contract.
    • Own compliance & regulation: maintain and extend our certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 2, and beyond) and the data-privacy and data-residency posture, so regulated buyers can say yes.
    • Run the platform for its stakeholders: treat the OPSWAT services built on the cloud (web proxy and ICAP, secure storage, email, Salesforce, threat hunting) as first-class customers, balancing their needs with one coherent platform.
    • Own pricing & packaging: design and maintain the prevention tier ladder, packaging, metering, and discount guidance, steward the one price book with your Aether counterpart, and monitor realization against list.
    • Drive cost efficiency: own cost per scan and the margin story, and make efficiency a continuous, measured program.
    • Lead the platform evolution: carry customers through major platform transitions, with migration paths that never ask them to break their integration, and retire legacy offerings cleanly.
    • Grow marketplaces & distribution: list the product on the cloud marketplaces where buyers already purchase, grow channel and reseller partnerships, and build the no-touch motion behind them.
    • Build the Technology Partners program: make joining the ecosystem a product action, with SDKs, API documentation, and automated onboarding and vetting, so every engine, integration, and developer partner adds detection, reach, or data.
    • Champion product-led growth: the product sells the product. Own every self-serve and paid-conversion motion, including from the free community, plus the inbound and digital funnels and the upgrade path.
    • Tailor the experience to the persona: know the cloud architect, platform engineer, and enterprise security leader in financial services, SaaS, and technology, and shape onboarding, console, and API experiences around their daily work.
    • Enable the field & measure ROI: own sales enablement and the proof the field needs, show up at the anchor events that matter, work channel partners deliberately, and hold every motion to a strong ROI.
    • Monitor the business: track the KPIs that matter (tier mix, NDR and GDR, realization, platform performance, unit cost) and use them to steer investment.
    • Build and lead the team: lead, mentor, and grow the MetaDefender Cloud product team, small and senior today, and scale it as the business scales.
    • Communicate with stakeholders: clearly articulate strategy, progress, and results to internal teams, executive leadership, and customers, fostering alignment and enthusiasm.

    What We Need from You

    • Product management experience: 5+ years in product management of cloud or SaaS products, ideally in cybersecurity or another trust-critical enterprise service. Experience leading product managers is a strong plus.
    • Cloud-service operating depth: you have run a high-availability, multi-tenant cloud service as a product (SLA and SLO design, recovery objectives, failover, multi-region architecture) and are credible with SRE and platform engineering.
    • Compliance & regulatory fluency: hands-on experience taking a cloud product through certifications such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or PCI DSS, and shaping data-privacy and data-residency posture for regulated buyers.
    • Business-owner fluency: demonstrated ability to run a product line as a business (packaging, pricing models, metering, unit economics), with fluency in NDR, GDR, and recurring-revenue metrics.
    • Marketplace & channel experience: you have grown a product through cloud marketplaces (AWS, Azure, or equivalent), channel, or reseller partners, or built that motion from zero.
    • Platform product thinking: experience evolving a shared platform that multiple products build on, balancing reuse with each consumer's speed and autonomy.
    • Product-led growth: experience with self-serve, developer-facing offerings: onboarding funnels, API-first products, and conversion into enterprise contracts.
    • Persona-driven product craft: a track record of building experiences around sharply defined users, backed by research, usage data, and design partnership.
    • AI-first ways of working: an AI-first mindset: you actively apply AI tools to your own and your team's daily work to move faster and raise quality.
    • Hands-on and technical: comfortable working shoulder-to-shoulder with R&D day to day, engaging credibly on APIs, cloud architecture, and trade-offs, and going deep in the product.
    • Track record of delivery: proven experience managing products from concept through launch, with results in user adoption, revenue growth, or market penetration.
    • Analytical & decisive: strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a data-driven approach.
    • Exceptional communicator: outstanding interpersonal and executive communication skills, enabling collaboration across cross-functional teams and credibility with customers and leadership.
    • Travel: willingness to travel regularly to field events, customers, and R&D sites.
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
    • Ways of working: familiarity with Agile methodologies or similar frameworks.

    Why You'll Love Working Here

    • Own the prevent half of a focused two-product strategy at a pre-IPO, global cybersecurity leader: a trust-critical cloud with executive attention.
    • Reliability, compliance, and cost are the product here. Rare scope for a leader who wants to own an enterprise cloud end to end.
    • Shape a platform: the cloud you run is the foundation a growing family of OPSWAT services builds on.
    • Take a proven product into marketplaces, self-serve, and a partner ecosystem. The growth levers are yours to build.
    • Work hands-on with world-class global R&D teams on a service that protects critical infrastructure.
    • Attractive compensation with regular performance assessments and flexibility for the right candidate.

    • Good English is a plus point.
    • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    • Development experience on Windows, Linux platforms

It Would be Nice if You Had

    • A real track record shipping and maintaining production systems, in any tech-stack.
    • Hands-on Rust or C++ - shortens your ramp, does not gate the door
    • Building AI agents or agentic pipelines yourself: tool contracts, structured output, multi-step orchestration
    • Performance profiling; networking (OSI)
    • Cybersecurity concepts, or components of a security product
    • Hands-on experience with DBMS (e.g. SQLite, PostgreSQL)
    • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

AI Native Software Engineer - Secure File Gateway

    Product Engineering

    Vietnam

    Summary

OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world's critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.

    About the Product

Secure File Gateway is a gateway that sits between a WAF and the web app backend. It ensures every uploaded file is scanned and sanitized by MetaDefender Core (via ICAP) before reaching the application; no WAF config changes needed. This solves the gap left by WAFs that dont support ICAP, or cant handle CDR-sanitized data.

    What Youll Do

    • Design, build, and test SFG in C++ or Rust (Windows/Linux) as the transparent proxy between WAF and backend.
    • Implement the core flow: intercept uploads forward to MetaDefender Core over ICAP return sanitized files, with low latency and high reliability.
    • Build multi-threaded, high-concurrency networking components.
    • Build and use agentic workflows (e.g., Claude Code, autonomous coding agents) daily for coding, testing, and debugging.
    • Work within a Scrum team; collaborate with Product Management; do peer code reviews.

    What We Need

    • Strong OOP background (Java/C#), willing to learn/work in C++ or Rust.
    • Solid multi-threading and network programming skills.
    • Comfort with protocol/network-level concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, proxying).
    • Genuine interest in using AI tools in your dev workflow.
    • Experience building or using multi-agents
    • Good coding/debugging skills, strong communication, self-motivated.

    Nice to Have

    • ICAP protocol, reverse proxy / gateway experience.
    • REST API design.
    • Agile/Scrum, Git/Bitbucket/Jira/Confluence/TeamCity.
    • DBMS (SQLite, PostgreSQL, etc.).
    • Windows/Linux dev experience.

    • Good understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and common design patterns

    • Experience with multi-threaded programming and system design

    • Excellent coding and debugging skills, including comfort navigating a large existing codebase and diagnosing issues across OS boundaries (processes, services, permissions)

    • An AI-native development mindset: hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic tools in real development work, with the judgment to review, verify, and test AI-generated code before it ships.

    • Working knowledge of LLM fundamentals relevant to engineering: prompt and context design, tool/function calling, evaluating outputs, and data-privacy considerations when using AI on proprietary code

    • Hands-on experience conducting code and design reviews

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts

    • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

    • Development experience on Windows, Linux, and/or macOS platforms

It Would be Nice if You Had

    • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Squirrel, Lua, etc.)

    • Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar) into tools or products; familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol), RAG, or agent frameworks

    • Development experience on Windows, macOS, and/or Linux with familiarity with that platforms native APIs and system layout (e.g., Win32/registry/WMI/COM and Windows services; macOS frameworks, bundles, launchd; Linux package managers, systemd, /proc).

    • Background in cybersecurity: endpoint protection, EDR/AV integration, CVE/vulnerability management, or device posture/compliance (SASE/ZTNA ecosystems)

    • Hands-on experience with DBMS (e.g., MongoDB, SQLite, PostgreSQL)

    • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

Director of Engineering - MetaDefender Managed File Transfer

    Product Engineering

AMER - Remote, San Francisco, Tampa

    Summary

OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage needed to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Over the last 20 years our commitment to innovative technology has earned the trust of more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions globally, solidifying our role in protecting the world's critical infrastructure and securing our way of life.

Director of Engineering - Meta Defender Managed File Transfer

    Reports to: VP, Products

    Protecting the World's Critical Infrastructure

OPSWAT, a global leader in IT, OT, and ICS critical infrastructure cybersecurity, delivers an end-to-end platform that gives public and private sector organizations and enterprises the critical advantage they need to protect their complex networks, secure their devices, and ensure compliance. Trusted by more than 1,700 organizations, governments, and institutions worldwide - including many of the world's largest governments, utilities, financial institutions, and defense contractors - OPSWAT protects the systems that keep society running.

The Product: MetaDefender Managed File Transfer

MetaDefender Managed File Transfer is OPSWAT's secure managed file transfer solution, trusted by governments and critical infrastructure operators to move sensitive files safely across enterprise networks and partner boundaries. It embeds OPSWAT's threat prevention technology - multiscanning, Deep CDR Technology, and DLP - directly into every file flow.

This role owns the engineering for the product across its full range of deployment form factors - air-gapped, cross-domain, internet-connected, and native-cloud environments - each with its own security, assurance, and operational demands, and all built to scale.

    About This Role

We are looking for a Director of Engineering who leads from the front. This is a hands-on, technically-centric leadership role - not a pure people-management position - with full accountability for the engineering of MetaDefender Managed File Transfer: architecture, delivery, quality, and the teams that build it. You will lead engineering across multiple deployment form factors - from air-gapped and cross-domain environments to internet-connected and native-cloud deployments - operating with the rigor of a principal engineer and the clarity of an executive.

You are an AI-native engineering leader. You have personally orchestrated fleets of AI agents to architect, build, test, and ship production systems, and you have launched and released real products through a full AI-powered software development lifecycle (SDLC) - from specification and code generation to automated testing, review, and deployment. Product Management defines what to ship; you define how to build it. You own the end-to-end delivery of the roadmap Product Management sets, hold the delivery bar, and build a high-performance culture that the rest of OPSWAT's engineering portfolio will look to as a model for AI-native development. You report to the VP, Products, and lead a distributed team across Romania, Vietnam, and Hungary, while the role itself can be based anywhere, with a preference for the UK, USA, or near an OPSWAT-operated location.

    What You Will Be Doing

    • Lead as an AI-first effort: make AI agents a first-class part of how the team works - orchestrating agents to create specs, generate code and tests, verify results, and run reviews - while ensuring humans own and validate every line that ships. Treat automation and intelligence as the default, not the exception.
    • Stay hands-on: remain directly in the codebase - setting architecture patterns, writing and reviewing critical code, prototyping, and unblocking hard technical problems. You lead by doing, not only by delegating.
    • Own end-to-end delivery of the roadmap: take full ownership of delivering the product roadmap set by Product Management - turning the "what to ship" into the "how to build," and owning execution sequencing, technical risk, quality, security, and release across every deployment form factor.
    • Set technical direction (the "how"): drive the architecture and technology choices that underpin a product serving high-assurance environments at scale. Hold a strong engineering point of view and be willing to defend it.
    • Build and lead a high-performance team: recruit, develop, and retain top engineers and their leads across Romania, Vietnam, and Hungary; create clear career paths and norms for code quality and review; and build a culture where strong engineers want to stay and grow.
    • Drive performance-based management: set clear, measurable expectations and run a rigorous, fair performance culture - recognizing and accelerating top performers, raising the bar continuously, and addressing underperformance decisively by coaching where there is a path and upgrading or exiting the role where there is not.
    • Hold a security-first quality bar: champion code review with a security lens for both human-written and AI-generated code, catching injection risks, insecure defaults, missing validation, and privilege-escalation vectors in file-handling and authentication paths before they ship.
    • Raise engineering velocity: continuously improve how the team works - CI/CD pipelines, AI-assisted development workflows, incident response, and operational maturity - so the team ships faster and more reliably over time.
    • Codify AI-native practices for the portfolio: establish the playbooks, AI context files, coding harnesses, test frameworks, and review norms developed on this product so other OPSWAT product teams can adopt them.
    • Partner cross-functionally: work shoulder-to-shoulder with the VP, Products, plus Product Management, Design, and security leaders - turning the product roadmap (the what) into engineering execution (the how), committing to scope and timelines, and pushing back clearly when trade-offs require it.

    What We Need From You

    • Full agentic development experience (required): you have personally run a full agentic, AI-powered SDLC end to end - and have done so in B2B and high-security enterprise environments where compliance, data sensitivity, and assurance requirements are non-negotiable. You can show real work (PRs, commit history, shipped products, or a portfolio) where agentic workflows drove delivery - not slideware about AI.
    • A product launched via a full AI-powered SDLC: demonstrable experience taking a product from spec to release using an end-to-end AI-assisted lifecycle (spec generation, code/test generation, automated verification, AI-assisted review, and CI/CD), with you accountable for the outcome.
    • Proven engineering leadership: 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years leading engineering teams (including managing managers/leads) through complex product delivery at scale. You can point to the decisions you made and why.
    • Performance-based leadership: a track record of building high-performing teams through rigorous, fair performance management - promoting excellence, making timely talent decisions, and reducing or replacing low performers when needed.
    • Deep technical excellence: strong, current software engineering fundamentals - solid command of design patterns, SOLID principles, and modern architecture. You can evaluate AI-assisted code with the same rigor as human-authored code. AI tools amplify strong fundamentals; they do not replace them.
    • Scalable systems experience: a proven history building scalable, distributed solutions - including relational/document databases, cloud-native services, and modern CI/CD systems.
    • Quality and test discipline: a high bar for tested, maintainable code; you use AI to accelerate test scaffolding, then validate that coverage is real and meaningful.
    • Distributed-team leadership: demonstrated ability to lead and align engineers across countries and time zones, building trust, clarity, and accountability in a remote/hybrid, multi-country setup.
    • Talent magnet and clear communicator: you identify strong engineers, make a compelling case for why they should join, and create an environment where they do their best work - and you communicate technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders without oversimplifying.
    • Security-conscious by default: operating in critical infrastructure markets means security is never an afterthought; you hold the team to a security-first bar on design, code review, and incident response.

It Would Be Nice If You Had

    • Domain familiarity: experience with managed file transfer, secure content delivery, data security, or critical infrastructure markets - you understand the trade-offs customers in this space make.
    • .NET / C# ecosystem: hands-on or managerial experience with .NET Core / C# - enough to evaluate architectural decisions, review PRs credibly, and hire well for the stack.
    • Cloud-native and containers: experience leading the design or operation of cloud-native SaaS platforms - Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/Azure/GCP - including using AI agents to script infrastructure and deployment automation.
    • AI context-file authoring: experience writing AI context files (e.g., CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules, or equivalent) that encode architecture decisions and forbidden patterns for consistent, safe AI output across a team.
    • AI in CI/CD pipelines: familiarity running AI agents inside pipelines - auto-fixing lint, generating missing tests, or running safe migrations as pipeline steps - not as experiments, but as how the team actually works.
    • International team experience: a track record of building and maintaining engineering culture and delivery quality across multiple countries and time zones.
    • Async and high-throughput systems: experience validating concurrency and thread-safety in high-throughput services.

    Why You'll Love Working Here

    • Lead a product trusted by critical infrastructure customers across air-gapped, cross-domain, internet-connected, and native-cloud deployments - the architecture and culture decisions you make now will shape it for years.
    • Influence beyond this product: the AI-native patterns you establish will propagate across OPSWAT's engineering portfolio.
    • Work from anywhere - a worldwide, remote-friendly role with a preference for the UK, USA, or a location near an OPSWAT-operated country.
    • Stable, growing international company with an exceptional customer base across 50+ countries.
    • A mandate to build AI-native engineering practices - and the latitude to do it your way.
    • Attractive compensation with regular performance assessments and flexibility for the right candidate.
