Director of Preconstruction

A growing commercial general contractor in Fort Worth is looking for a Director of Preconstruction to lead and build out its preconstruction team. This is a chance to shape how a busy Fort Worth office estimates, plans and wins work across commercial, industrial and mixed-use projects, including tilt-wall.

What You'll Do

• Lead the preconstruction group in Fort Worth and help grow the team
• Oversee conceptual estimates, budgets, GMP proposals and value engineering
• Partner with owners, architects and business development early in the pursuit process
• Drive bid strategy, subcontractor coverage and scope reviews
• Set up estimating standards, tools and workflows that the team can rely on
• Hand projects off cleanly to operations with clear budgets and schedules

What You Bring

• 10+ years of preconstruction or estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
• Experience leading or mentoring estimators and precon staff
• A strong background in commercial, industrial, mixed-use or tilt-wall work
• Solid knowledge of estimating software and cost databases
• Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills
• Relationships in the DFW owner, design and subcontractor community are a plus
