    Description

    he Director of Patient Access provides strategic and operational leadership for Patient Access services across the health system. The Director is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, efficient, and patient-centered access to care while optimizing front-end revenue cycle performance.



    This position provides leadership over functions that may include hospital registration and admissions, emergency department registration, pre-registration, insurance eligibility and benefits verification, prior authorization and financial clearance, patient estimates, financial counseling, point-of-service collections, and related patient access activities.



    The Director establishes standardized processes, performance expectations, and accountability across Patient Access operations and partners closely with Revenue Cycle, Finance, Clinical Operations, Case Management/Utilization Management, Information Technology, Managed Care, and hospital and ambulatory leadership.


    Qualifications:


    Education


    Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.


    Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.



    Experience


    Approximately 7 10 years of progressive Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, or healthcare operations experience.


    Approximately 5 years of progressive management experience, preferably including leadership of managers or supervisors.


    Experience managing Patient Access operations in an acute-care hospital or multi-site health system strongly preferred.


    Demonstrated experience with registration, insurance verification, authorization, financial clearance, patient estimates, financial counseling, and point-of-service collections.


    Demonstrated success improving operational KPIs and front-end revenue cycle outcomes.
