    Lead the Business Side of a High-Performing Law Firm

    Boyce Law Firm, LLP is seeking a Director of Operations to provide leadership for the Firm's administrative and support functions while serving as a trusted partner to Firm leadership. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced operations professional to make a meaningful impact and help shape the future of Sioux Falls’ oldest law firm.

    The Director of Operations will oversee non-attorney personnel, human resources administration, operational workflow, vendor relationships, and key administrative functions. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving performance, and creating an environment where employees and attorneys can do their best work.

    What You'll Do

    Key responsibilities include:

    People Leadership

    • Lead, coach, and develop the Firm's non-attorney staff.
    • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and employee development discussions.
    • Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional client service.

    Human Resources & Employee Relations

    • Oversee onboarding, benefits administration, employee records, and policy administration.
    • Serve as a resource for employee relations, workplace concerns, and performance management.
    • Partner with Firm leadership on recruiting, retention, and workforce planning.
    • Support employee engagement and professional development initiatives.

    Operations & Business Management

    • Manage day-to-day administrative operations and workflow.
    • Identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions that improve productivity and service.
    • Standardize processes and ensure operational consistency across the organization.
    • Partner and oversee outsourced vendors and service providers, including accounting, payroll, marketing, technology, and other administrative partners.
    • Coordinate information for payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and administrative functions.

    • Monitor administrative processes for accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.

    Strategic Leadership

    • Partner with Firm leadership on operational strategy, staffing needs, and organizational planning.
    • Recommend solutions that strengthen efficiency, service quality, and employee performance.
    • Help ensure attorneys receive the administrative support necessary to focus on serving clients and growing the practice.

    What We're Looking For

    We're seeking a confident and approachable leader who combines strong business acumen with excellent people-management skills.

    Qualified candidates will possess:

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Five or more years of leadership, operations management, or business administration experience.
    • Demonstrated success leading teams and improving organizational performance.
    • Experience managing employee performance, workplace issues, and operational processes.
    • Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to lead and champion change, influence accountability, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience within a law firm is highly desirable but not required.
