Run the floor today. Help shape where the company goes tomorrow.
Nimbl Fulfillment is on a mission to create exceptional experiences for our customers. Founded in 2005 to fulfill untapped customer demand for assembly work in the Salt Lake Valley, Nimbl has grown to be one of the premium full-service fulfillment companies in the western United States. Nimbl runs full-service fulfillment operations out of our Salt Lake City, Utah and Tennessee locations and we are growing! Last year we grew by 60% and are positioned to do it again this year. As brands keep shifting from brick-and-mortar to direct-to-consumer models, they see the value in working with an approachable partner that is dedicated to outworking and out-executing those larger providers. We’ve been doing it for over 21 years!
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a Director of Operations to lead our operation day to day, perform at a high level in front of customers, and step up as the person in charge when the General Manager is offsite. The GM is on-site two days a week, so this is a role for someone who owns the building, sets the standard, and earns trust through consistent execution. For the right person, this is a clear growth path into the most senior operating role in the company.
What You’ll Own
• Lead and develop a team of operational and commercial leaders across Warehouse, Fulfillment, Kitting, Account Management, and Business Development.
•Run the operation at a high level every day — and serve as the senior leader on-site when the GM is away.
• Own operational P&L performance, labor efficiency, and facility profitability.
• Build organizational capacity to support rapid growth, new customer acquisition, and scalability.
• Use our ERP and WMS systems to drive productivity, visibility, and smarter decisions — not just to keep the lights on.
• Set KPIs and reporting structures across all departments; run regular operational reviews that drive continuous improvement.
• Develop annual operating plans, budgets, and growth strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Partner with Business Development to assess operational feasibility, pricing assumptions, and implementation for new business.
• Serve as the executive escalation point for major customer concerns or service disruptions.
• Build strategic relationships with parcel, LTL, FTL, and freight carriers; reduce transportation cost through rate negotiation, routing, packaging, and carrier diversification.
• Identify margin opportunities through process optimization, automation, and productivity gains.
• Participate in executive discussions on acquisitions, expansion, and long-term planning.
Who You Are
We care more about trajectory than tenure. The strongest candidate has moved through progressively bigger roles in manufacturing and logistics, earning more responsibility at each step. You may be earlier in your career than a typical director — that’s fine, as long as your track record shows you’re ready for more. This includes:
• A background spanning manufacturing and logistics, with a record of increasing responsibility.
• Tech-savvy: you understand how ERP and WMS systems work and how to use them to lift productivity.
• Strong business and financial acumen — comfortable owning a P&L and defending the numbers.
• A servant leader who values the good of the whole over the good of the one, and builds a team that performs without you in the room.
• Calm, credible, and impressive in front of customers — you raise the standard of every interaction.
• A builder who thrives in a fast-growing, client-driven environment and takes pride in beating bigger competitors.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Demonstrated trajectory of increasing responsibility in operations, manufacturing, and/or logistics.
• Experience supporting multi-client 3PL environments with diverse customer requirements and SLAs.
• Working fluency with ERP and WMS systems and a clear sense of how technology drives operational performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
• Ability to pass E-Verify and background check.
Preferred
• Experience with customer implementations, contract reviews, and operational pricing strategies.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
• $125K–$150K base + performance bonus tied to company EBITDA goals.
• Medical, Dental, and Vision, effective the first of the month following 30 days.
• Company-sponsored Life Insurance and Employee Assistance Program.
• 4 weeks PTO + 7 paid holidays.
• 401(k)
