    Position Summary:

    The Director of Nursing for Women's Health Services in Greater Manchester Region will be responsible for leading the Family Birthing Center, NICU, Perinatal Education, the Maternity Care Clinic, Family Development Center, Integrated Medicine, Breast Care Collaborative, and the Breast/Cervical Early Detection and WISEWOMAN grant program. The Director will oversee hospital-based and ambulatory women''s health services, including obstetrics, gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, breast health, and other specialty programs, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational goals. The Director will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical programs that promote high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the continuum of women''s health.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Directs the development of policies, procedures and staff plans to ensure effective and efficient daily operations, long-term effectiveness and regulatory compliance is maintained
    • Works collaboratively with managers and outside agencies and community partners to meet grant program requirements
    • Develops quality and safety measures into the care environment to determine effectiveness of current and proposed processes and ensures departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
    • Creates a thriving, trusting team culture. Provides team with clear expectations, positive and constructive feedback to maximize potential and improve performance. Encourages professional development, identifying opportunities for growth and ongoing education. Promotes and oversees the employment of an effective peer review process relative to evidence based standards
    • Responsible for strategic planning, and development of organizational goals. Establishes operational strategies
    • Collaborates with Risk Management, Quality, Case Management, Infectious Disease Prevention and Wound Care Team to incorporate these disciplines and protocols into clinical operations consistent with a "Culture of Safety/Just Culture"\
    • Participates in the preparation of operating and capital budgets in collaboration with the department leaders; forecasts demand for services and conducts trending analysis. Monitors overall performance of the departments against a pre-defined set of outcomes measures of performance standards- financial, clinical quality and service
    • Works collaboratively with grant managers and support staff on grant program administration
    • Develop partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and public agencies and lead initiatives that improve access to preventive services, maternal health, cancer screening, and care coordination

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred
    • Current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut
    • Five plus years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care setting
    • Highly effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal
    • Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills who relates well with all levels of the organization
    • A creative, forward-thinking leader with the proven ability to engage, coach and mentor direct reports, colleagues and other key stakeholders
    • A demonstrated track record designing strategies and delivering solutions in areas including, but not limited to, patient experience, patient safety, employee engagement and workflow redesign
