Director of Nursing

DESCRIPTION:

Thomas University, seeks an entrepreneurial Director of Nursing who will expand our undergraduate and graduate Nursing programs by driving program enrollment growth through recruitment efforts and strategic partnerships. The position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing courses, scholarship and service responsibilities. Reporting to the Division Chair, the position is an academic, campus- based appointment to begin in August, 2027.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Earned doctoral degree in nursing or MSN and doctorate in related field
• Online teaching experience in BSN and/ or MSN programs preferred
• Content area expertise: nursing education and/ or nursing administration
• Experience in managing nursing accreditation requirements
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit good judgment in making decisions concurrent with university policy
• Ability to work cooperatively with all constituents
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful experience working with diverse student populations.
• Successful experience guiding graduate research projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Expand strategic relationships with 2-year schools, healthcare facilities, and other local constituents
• Drive enrollment growth
• Oversee planning and implementation of curriculum and program outcomes and assessments
• Manage departmental budget
• Manage data and prepare documents for institutional reporting and where applicable, programmatic accreditation
• Maintain course rotations and deploy appropriate semester course schedules
• Coordinate selection and ordering of textbooks
• Manage clinical affiliate sites
• Review applications and recommend hiring of adjuncts
• Coordinate development and evaluation of all program faculty
• Coordinate with Advising to facilitate student entry, progression, and graduation
• Assist with recruiting efforts and where applicable review admissions applications
