Work Schedule:
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:30 - 17:30)
Pay rate: Local - $80/hr. and Traveller: $95/hr ($3800.00/wk.)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee and manage nursing services within a skilled nursing/long-term care facility. The DON will provide clinical and administrative leadership, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, maintain quality standards, and promote safe, resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate nursing services and daily clinical operations.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to licensed and non-licensed nursing staff.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels, scheduling, staff competency, and performance management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Monitor quality of care through chart reviews, audits, quality improvement, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, medication management, patient/resident rights, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, Medical Director, Admissions, Case Management, Pharmacy, and other departments.
  • Address complex resident-care issues and provide clinical guidance to nursing staff.
  • Participate in facility committees, quality assurance, infection control, and regulatory activities.
  • Assist with staff orientation, education, competency assessments, and ongoing training.
  • Handle employee concerns, conflicts, performance issues, and disciplinary matters as needed.
  • Manage nursing schedules, overtime, on-call coverage, and emergency situations.
  • Assist with nursing department budgeting and prepare reports for facility leadership.
  • Serve as Administrator in the Administrator's absence when required.
  • Maintain resident privacy, confidentiality, safety, and dignity at all times.

 

Requirements

  • SNF/LTC experience is REQUIRED
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
  • Current, active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
  • 5+ years of nursing management/leadership experience preferred
  • Long-Term Care experience required
  • Acute care or rehabilitation experience preferred
  • BLS/CPR desired
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, long-term care regulations, and applicable federal/state guidelines
  • Ability to make independent decisions and effectively manage clinical and personnel issues
  • Strong ability to lead, organize, develop, and implement quality nursing programs
