Overview
An outstanding leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to oversee Emergency Services within a high-volume acute care setting. This role provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for emergency care operations, with responsibility for driving quality outcomes, enhancing patient satisfaction, supporting staff development, and ensuring efficient resource utilization.
The Director of Nursing will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leadership, and executive teams to advance patient-centered care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for Emergency Services operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies that improve clinical outcomes, patient experience, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, patient safety, and quality standards.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives using data analysis and outcome metrics.
  • Partner with medical staff and hospital leadership to strengthen care coordination and service delivery.
  • Support recruitment, retention, engagement, and professional development of nursing staff.
  • Manage departmental budgeting, financial performance, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee staff competency programs, education initiatives, and clinical practice standards.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote patient-centered care while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Current Alabama RN license or eligibility for Alabama licensure.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience within Emergency Services.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource planning in an acute care environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience implementing performance improvement initiatives.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required (or obtainable within an established timeframe).
  • Clean nursing license with no disciplinary actions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership experience within an Emergency Department setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading teams in fast-paced, high-acuity emergency care environments.
