Director of Nursing - Hospice

Location: North Druid Hills
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Office Setting
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Clinical Nursing Director to lead our hospice care team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is a skilled nurse leader with a deep understanding of hospice care and a passion for providing comfort and support to patients and their families.

Must be familiar with Homecare Homebase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and leadership to the hospice nursing team
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local hospice regulations and standards
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance patient care
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment
  • Monitor patient care plans to ensure they align with hospice philosophy and patient needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, social workers, and therapists
  • Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and training programs for clinical personnel
  • Serve as a liaison between leadership, staff, patients, and families
  • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to EMR guidelines

Qualifications

  • Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state license; BSN preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hospice or palliative care nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work effectively in a team-oriented office environment
