What We Offer
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON, RN) to lead our nursing department and oversee the delivery of quality resident care. The DON is responsible for managing clinical operations, supervising nursing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining staffing levels, and fostering a culture of excellence throughout the facility.
This role is vital in ensuring residents receive high-quality, compassionate care while supporting and developing a strong clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and management of the nursing department
Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures
Ensure resident safety and promote a culture of dignity, respect, and quality care
Help recruit, hire, onboard, train, and retain nursing staff
Maintain appropriate staffing levels and oversee scheduling processes
Conduct employee evaluations, coaching, disciplinary action, and performance improvement activities
Develop and conduct clinical education and in-service training programs
Coordinate pharmacy services and medication management processes
Serve as a liaison between physicians, residents, families, and the facility
Collaborate with all departments to promote exceptional resident outcomes
Participate in Quality Assurance (QA), Utilization Review, and Patient Care Conferences
Coordinate MDS processes and resident care planning activities
Develop and manage departmental budgets and reporting requirements
Stay current with regulatory requirements and communicate updates appropriately
Lead survey readiness efforts and participate in state surveys and follow-up activities
Maintain resident and employee confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Provide direct resident care and clinical support as needed
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to facility needs after hours as necessary
