Director of Nursing (DON) – Pediatric Medical Daycare (PPEC)

We are looking for a passionate, energetic, and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join our pediatric medical daycare (PPEC) team!

As our Director of Nursing, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the nursing department and ensuring that our patients receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

You will work closely with nursing staff, CNAs, therapists, administration, physicians, and families to maintain excellent clinical standards and a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, direction, and support to the nursing department
• Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure appropriate staffing and patient coverage
• Ensure compliance with AHCA, Florida regulations, PPEC requirements, and facility policies
• Monitor patient care, nursing documentation, medication administration, and treatment compliance
• Review and maintain patient care plans and ensure physician orders are followed
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective action when needed
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, physicians, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team
• Promote strong communication and teamwork among all departments
• Assist with AHCA surveys, inspections, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Florida RN license
• Nursing leadership/supervisory experience preferred
• Pediatric/PPEC experience - 2 years General pediatric with at least 6 months in a NICU, PICU or similar care setting
• Knowledge of AHCA regulations preferred
• CPR/BLS certification
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
