Page PAGE 1 of NUMPAGES 2 Position Description and Responsibilities Director Business Card: Director, MEP Reports to: President Primary Purpose: As a Director with Guidon Design, you will be a leader of the firm, guide the pursuit and development of clients, work on strategic leadership initiatives, and serve as direct supervisor for an assigned team. Analyzes staff resource requests from Project Managers and allocates staff resources based on tasks/projects. Act as the primary liaison (Principal in Charge) for defined clients to include developing new work and addressing project challenges. Provide mentorship for assigned staff and develops professional/training goals. Often this position will have a secondary role as a Senior Project Manager. Evaluation Metrics: Works with the President and Executive Team to sets a 10 year and 3 year Vision and define and execute annual strategy goals to accomplish. Guides PMs and subordinates to meet target project profitability of 20%. Anticipates workload/staffing needs, hires to achieve utilization targets and address HR concerns. Direct supervisor for Team Leaders and Directors; guide them in leading other staff. Facilitates a professional work environment and culture at Guidon. Sets QA/QC standards and processes to ensure Technical Staff meet Project QA/QC goals. Qualifications: Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accredited institution License in your discipline Breakdown of Tasks: Strategy/Planning 10% Team Leadership / Mentoring / Training 10% Sales/client relationships 30% Project based work as a Sr PM 50% Responsibilities: Participate and contribute to the Company’s leadership team to resolve company-wide issues and help develop the strategic direction of the firm. Work with firm leaders and Project Managers to ensure staff resource allocation on all task/project needs are met. Act as Principal in Charge (PIC) for select clients to create and foster client relationships Develop client sales through existing and new clients. Develop and lead capture plans for identified PIC clients. Provides input to Executive Team on appropriate staffing levels; suggests new hire/termination. Leads the interview process for assigned new hires. Assess and evaluate potential business opportunities, and make professional recommendations to the Executive Team on those opportunities Supervisor for assigned engineering team to include semi-annual regular reviews, Professional development plan and administrative oversight. Primary resource allocator for assigned team. Create and implement a career development plan for assigned team. Recommend salary adjustments and bonuses for assigned staff. Responsible for implementing Personal Improvement Plans (PIP) for their assigned staff if needed. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for driving business growth, developing client relationships, leading engineering teams, and overseeing the successful execution of projects. The Director will serve as a Principal in Charge (PIC) for key clients while also functioning as a Senior Project Manager on select projects. This role offers the opportunity to shape the firm's long-term vision, mentor engineering staff, and influence company-wide initiatives. Key Responsibilities:Provide executive leadership and contribute to the firm's strategic planning and long-term vision. Serve as Principal in Charge (PIC) for key client accounts and develop new business opportunities. Build and maintain strong client relationships while leading capture plans and proposal efforts. Lead and mentor engineering managers, team leaders, and technical staff. Allocate engineering resources to support project workloads and staffing needs. Oversee project profitability, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and operational performance. Supervise hiring, performance evaluations, professional development, compensation recommendations, and employee growth initiatives. Manage select projects as a Senior Project Manager while ensuring client satisfaction and project success. Participate in Executive Leadership and Leadership Council meetings to support company growth and operational excellence. Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution. Professional Engineering license (or applicable discipline license) required. Demonstrated leadership experience within an MEP consulting engineering environment. Proven experience managing engineering teams, project managers, and technical staff. Strong business development, client relationship management, and strategic planning experience. Experience overseeing staffing, resource allocation, project profitability, and operational performance. Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
