The Director of Major, Planned, and Estate Giving serves as the institutions frontline gift officer, responsible for developing and implementing a coordinated program of fundraising activities focused on major, planned and estate gifts. The position identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of up to 200 prospects, with average annual fundraising accountability of $1 million and gifts typically ranging from $25,000 to $1 million. This role works closely with donors, prospective donors, alumni, parents, corporate and foundation representatives, staff, and volunteers to build meaningful relationships and advance the institutions fundraising priorities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive major gifts program.
- Lead efforts to strengthen and reinvigorate the Legacy Society.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts prospects and donors.
- Build and maintain relationships with regional foundations to expand philanthropic support.
- Provide fundraising guidance and training to campus leadership and collaborate with the leadership team to align donor interest with institutional priorities.
- Travel throughout the state and country to meet with major donors and donor prospects.
- Support volunteer boards in advancing stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation initiatives.
- Represent Georgia Military College at institutional and community events, including speaking engagements, and effectively communicate the mission, vision and impact of the institution.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position operates in hybrid work environment, with combination of on-campus responsibilities, travel, and remote work as appropriate to support donor engagement and institutional advancement activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- 2-3 years of experience in planned giving, development and or a related field
- Excellent writing, public speaking, and expository skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree
- 3-5 years of experience in planned giving, development and/or related field
