Director of Machine Learning

Salary range: $200,000 - $230,000

Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of machine learning engineers and scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Define and execute the machine learning strategy and roadmap, identifying key areas for ML investment and development aligned with product goals.
Oversee the design, development, and implementation of scalable and reliable machine learning models and infrastructure.
Ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of machine learning systems through the implementation of robust testing, monitoring, and MLOps practices.
Work closely with product management, engineering, and research teams to integrate ML solutions into core products and services.
Drive technical excellence within the team, promoting best practices in coding, model development, and deployment.
Manage project priorities, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure successful delivery of ML initiatives.
Communicate technical concepts and project status to stakeholders across the organization.
Contribute to the hiring and onboarding of ML talent.
Qualifications:
Minimum 6 years of experience in machine learning, with substantial experience (typically 3+ years) in a leadership or management capacity.
Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or Statistics.
Expertise in various machine learning algorithms, deep learning architectures, and their application to real-world problems.
Strong understanding of MLOps principles and experience with deploying and managing ML models in production at scale.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed ML training and inference.
Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor individuals, and foster a strong team culture.
Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience contributing to the strategic planning and execution of ML initiatives.
