The Director of Legal Operations will oversee the daily operations of the legal assistant and paralegal teams, ensuring efficient, high-quality support across all active litigation matters. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising, mentoring, and evaluating legal support staff; developing and implementing policies and best practices to standardize workflows firmwide; partnering with attorneys to ensure proper staffing against case deadlines and discovery demands; monitoring case management systems for accuracy and compliance; and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, technology use, and training. Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the legal assistant and paralegal teams, ensuring efficient, high-quality support across all active litigation matters.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate legal assistants and paralegals, providing guidance on performance, workload distribution, and professional development.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to standardize legal support functions and case workflows firmwide.
Partner with attorneys to ensure legal support staff are properly staffed and aligned with case deadlines, court requirements, and discovery demands.
Monitor case management systems and legal support workflows to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of filings and discovery.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, technology use, and training within the legal support department.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Legal Operations Manager, Director of Legal Operations, or similar role.
Experience helping to grow and scale a plaintiff’s litigation practice
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of legal operations, technology, and process improvement, preferably within wage-and-hour or class action litigation.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Experience with legal technology and case management software, such as Litify or similar industry-standard platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Legal Studies, or a related field.
