Description

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client in New York, NY, for a Director of IT Infrastructure to lead the strategy, architecture, and operations of its enterprise technology environment. This is a high-visibility hybrid role for a hands-on technology leader who can balance long-term infrastructure planning with the day-to-day reliability that keeps a modern business running.

Day to day, you will split your time between strategic planning sessions with executive leadership and rolling up your sleeves alongside your engineering teams to solve tough infrastructure problems. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise network, server, and cloud infrastructure
  • Develop and execute a multi-year IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with business goals
  • Manage and mentor a team of systems administrators, network engineers, and infrastructure specialists
  • Oversee data center operations, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity programs
  • Establish and enforce infrastructure security standards in partnership with the information security team
  • Own vendor relationships and contract negotiations for hardware, software, and cloud services
  • Monitor system performance and capacity, proactively addressing risks before they impact operations
  • Manage the infrastructure budget and identify opportunities for cost optimization
  • Collaborate with application and product teams to ensure infrastructure supports business initiatives
  • Drive adoption of automation and infrastructure-as-code practices across the environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8 or more years of progressive IT infrastructure experience including leadership roles
  • Proven track record managing enterprise networks, servers, storage, and cloud platforms
  • Experience with hybrid and public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, and IT security best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams
  • Experience managing infrastructure budgets and vendor contracts
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for executive audiences
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or cloud platform certifications preferred
