Director of Integration - Pet Resorts

Preferred Location: Atlanta, GA or Dallas, TX | 60%+ Travel

Do you love dogs, people and growth? This is your dream job!

We’re partnering with a rapidly growing company in the pet resort space that is expanding across the country through a combination of acquisitions and de novo development. As the company continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Director of Integration to help bring newly acquired businesses into the organization, without losing the people, culture, and local strengths that made those businesses successful in the first place. This is a highly visible, hands-on role reporting directly to the SVP of Operations. You’ll work closely with newly acquired locations, their leadership teams, and corporate partners to make each transition as smooth, thoughtful, and successful as possible.

And yes....you should genuinely love dogs!! You’ll be spending a lot of time around them!!

    What You’ll Do

You’ll take the lead on post-acquisition integration, serving as the bridge between newly acquired businesses and the broader organization.

    You will:

    • Lead the integration of newly acquired pet resorts into the company’s growing portfolio
    • Develop and execute integration plans, timelines, priorities, and milestones
    • Partner closely with owners, general managers, and local teams throughout the transition
    • Coordinate cross-functional integration across operations, people/HR, finance, technology, marketing, systems, and processes
    • Help transition locations onto company platforms, operating standards, reporting structures, and best practices
    • Identify potential challenges early and work collaboratively to solve them
    • Support operational readiness for continued growth, including acquisitions and new de novo locations
    • Help preserve what makes each local business special while creating consistency across a growing organization
    • Serve as a trusted resource to employees navigating change
    • Travel extensively to newly acquired and developing locations across the country

    The People Side Matters!

Successful integration isn't just about project plans and checklists. It's about people. We’re looking for someone with exceptional emotional intelligence and communication skills who understands that selling or transitioning a business can be a major change for owners and employees. You know how to walk into a new organization, build credibility quickly, listen before making assumptions, and get people excited about where the company is going. You’re comfortable having difficult conversations when necessary, but you lead with empathy, transparency, humor, and respect.

    The Ideal Candidate has...

    • Experience leading M&A integration, post-acquisition operations, or multi-site integration
    • Experience within a pet resort, veterinary hospital, or similar multi-location/roll-up organization
    • Strong understanding of businesses growing through acquisitions and/or de novo development
    • Experience integrating newly acquired businesses into a larger portfolio
    • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to keep multiple integrations moving simultaneously
    • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
    • The ability to influence without always having direct authority
    • Comfort working with everyone from founders and executives to frontline team members
    • A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
    • Flexibility and comfort operating in a fast-growing environment where things evolve quickly
    • Willingness and ability to travel 60%+
    • Ideally based in the Atlanta or Dallas region for convenient travel access

    Who Will Thrive Here

You’ll probably love this role if you enjoy growth, people, travel, problem-solving, and building something. You’re energized by walking into a newly acquired location, meeting the team, figuring out what’s working and what needs attention, and helping everyone move forward together.

You don't need a perfectly scripted corporate playbook to operate effectively. You're collaborative, adaptable, approachable, and comfortable figuring things out along the way. Most importantly, you understand that great integrations happen when people trust the person leading them through the change.

This is an opportunity to join a fun, entrepreneurial and rapidly growing pet company at an exciting stage of its expansion. You’ll have significant visibility and influence, work directly with senior leadership, travel throughout the portfolio, and play an important role in shaping how the organization integrates and scales future acquisitions. If you have experience helping a multi-location pet or veterinary company grow through M&A, and you love the combination of people, operations, growth, and dogs, we’d love to hear from you.

    Heavy travel is expected 60%+
