Oxford Solutions is seeking an experienced Director of Information Technology for a growing organization looking to expand and strengthen its internal IT capabilities.
This is a hands-on, strategic leadership opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys building technology operations, developing teams, and driving organizational growth. The Director will transition the company from a primarily outsourced IT model to a more structured internal IT function while overseeing enterprise systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology strategy.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of executive-level IT leadership and practical experience building and scaling IT operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute an IT strategy and technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and future growth.
- Evaluate existing technology infrastructure, systems, and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build and lead an internal IT department, including hiring, staffing plans, budgets, and operational procedures.
- Oversee enterprise applications, cloud platforms, networks, infrastructure, and IT support services.
- Manage relationships with external IT providers, consultants, and technology vendors.
- Strengthen cybersecurity, data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity programs.
- Maintain IT governance, regulatory compliance, and internal controls, including SOX requirements.
- Partner with executive leadership and business departments to implement scalable technology solutions.
- Establish policies and governance for responsible AI adoption and emerging technologies.
- Manage IT projects, technology investments, vendor performance, and service delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience building, transforming, or scaling enterprise IT operations.
- Experience establishing internal IT teams and managing outsourced technology providers.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, cloud technologies, and IT governance.
- Experience managing IT budgets, vendor contracts, and enterprise technology initiatives.
- Experience supporting multiple business functions and geographically dispersed operations.
- Background in mining, engineering, construction, energy, or another capital-intensive industry.
- Strong communication, strategic planning, and executive leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting publicly traded companies, including SOX compliance and IT audit requirements.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, Microsoft 365, and cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of industrial technology environments and IT/OT cybersecurity.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, or PMP.
