HCT seeks an Interim Director of Infection Control to oversee the Infection Prevention program across two hospitals. We are seeking an experienced leader with CIC certification and a strong background in hospital infection prevention, surveillance, epidemiology, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee infection prevention and control policies and programs across the medical system.
- Conduct surveillance and epidemiologic investigations to identify infection trends and outbreaks.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, departments, and leadership to promote best practices in infection control.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, CDC, Joint Commission, and other regulatory and accrediting bodies’ guidelines.
- Lead education and training initiatives for hospital personnel on infection prevention protocols.
- Monitor antibiotic stewardship and resistance patterns in coordination with infectious disease specialists.
- Manage data reporting, analysis, and continuous quality improvement related to infection rates and prevention efforts.
- Serve as a key member of the patient safety and quality teams.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Certification: Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required.
- License: if Registered Nurse, Must have active RN license in the state of Mary land (or compact RN)
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in infection prevention or hospital epidemiology required; experience providing infection prevention leadership across two or more hospitals strongly preferred; Strong knowledge of infection control standards, microbiology, and healthcare regulations; Exceptional communication, analytical, and project management skills.
