Related Information About the Position:

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for providing leadership and strategic vision to district departments and schools to support and ensure alignment with the District's strategic framework and annual goals. This role will conduct daily Human Resources activities for the Mosinee School District, including matters involving employees and prospective employees; ensuring that all matters are handled according to district policies and procedures and meet all state and federal legal requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain current knowledge on employment laws and state and federal human resources law and their application to policies, processes, and handbooks.
  • Ensure that district HR policies and processes meet district goals and are legally compliant.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to the Superintendent and Board of Education regarding HR issues.
  • Employee relations, including investigations, discipline, non-renewals, termination of employees and job exit interviews.
  • District Compliance Officer.
  • Make recommendations of policy and maintain employee handbook.
  • Develop and maintain recruitment and retention processes.
  • Negotiate offers of employment and manage the onboarding of a new employees, substitutes, coaches, or volunteers.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and hiring of district employees, placement on compensation model, conditional offers, issuing contracts, letter of employment and coordinating new staff orientations and training.
  • Establish and maintain competitive and affordable compensation and benefits planning for all levels of the district in conjunction with the administration team.
  • Develop and administer wellness program.
  • Act as licensing agent for the district for both certified staff and support staff.
  • Prepare documents and represent the district in Board of Education Personnel Committee meetings.
  • Oversee the annual staff trainings as per State Statute and DPI regulations.
  • Serve as primary authority for benefits administration, be a part of annual benefit negotiations, and oversee open enrollment in collaboration with Payroll Specialist nad Director of Business Services.
  • Create and manage job descriptions, and conduct job analysis.
  • Lead district recruitment efforts and marketing initatives to attract qualified candidatds and promote the public image of the district.
  • File WISEstaff report, participate in compensation surveys, and provide data as required by DPI or other State entities.
  • Manage workers compensation claims and reports.
  • Monitor leaves including FMLA, worker''s compensation, short-term disability and long-term disability including all paperwork and filings.

Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree in Business Management, Human Resources, and experience in a human resources setting.

Desired: HR certificates such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP. Masters Degree in Administration and experience as a public school administrator.

  • Strong organization and time management skills - ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks for a variety of timelines
  • Software skills to include: Skyward HR and Employee Management module, Excel, Word, Google Suite
