Director of Human Resources – Global Compensation & HR Operations
NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a high-growth technology and communications organization seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources – Global Compensation & HR Operations to join its HR leadership team.
This highly visible leadership position supports an approximately 1,500-employee organization with operations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, this individual will oversee multiple HR functions and play a key role in developing the organization's global compensation strategy, HR operations, HR technology, and international workforce programs.
The ideal candidate combines deep compensation and total rewards expertise with strong HR operations leadership and advanced Paycom knowledge. This person should be equally comfortable developing strategy, leading HR teams, optimizing systems, interpreting workforce data, and partnering with executive leadership.
What You'll Do
HR Leadership & Strategy
- Partner closely with the Vice President of Human Resources to align HR priorities with organizational objectives.
- Lead and develop multiple HR functions and their respective managers and specialists.
- Establish goals, performance metrics, accountability standards, and development plans across HR teams.
- Provide leadership and guidance during periods of organizational growth and change.
- Partner with executive and operational leaders on workforce strategy and organizational priorities.
Global Compensation & Total Rewards
- Lead the development and administration of compensation programs across multiple countries.
- Design and maintain salary structures, job architecture, salary bands, and compensation frameworks.
- Manage market pricing and compensation benchmarking.
- Develop and support base-pay and variable-compensation programs.
- Analyze compensation competitiveness across multiple geographic markets.
- Support international compensation practices in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.
- Partner with leadership on compensation planning and workforce cost analysis.
- Maintain awareness of country-specific compensation and employment requirements.
HR Systems & Analytics
- Serve as a senior leader responsible for maximizing the organization's use of Paycom.
- Identify opportunities to automate HR processes and improve workflows.
- Maintain strong HR data governance and reporting standards.
- Develop workforce analytics and executive-level HR reporting.
- Leverage HR data to identify trends and support business decisions.
- Partner with payroll, finance, HR, and operational leaders to improve system integration and processes.
Global HR Operations
- Provide oversight and strategic direction for HR operational processes across multiple countries.
- Partner with payroll teams to support compliant and effective cross-border payroll processes.
- Improve employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, organizational changes, compensation actions, and workforce reporting.
- Ensure HR processes scale effectively as the organization continues to grow.
Talent & Workforce Planning
- Partner with Talent Acquisition leadership on workforce planning and recruiting strategy.
- Support technical, professional, operational, and leadership workforce needs.
- Improve international and domestic onboarding processes.
- Partner with business leaders to anticipate future workforce requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- 3+ years of senior HR leadership experience with responsibility for multiple HR functions.
- Significant experience designing and managing compensation and total rewards programs.
- Demonstrated experience developing salary structures, salary bands, market pricing, and variable incentive programs.
- Advanced experience administering, configuring, or optimizing Paycom.
- Strong HR analytics, reporting, and workforce-data capabilities.
- Experience supporting multi-state organizations.
- International HR experience supporting employees across multiple countries.
- Strong understanding of HR operations and payroll processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR managers and professional teams.
- Strong executive communication and business-partnership skills.
- Ability to work onsite four days per week in Eastern Dallas County.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting employees in Canada, Mexico, and/or Brazil.
- Knowledge of Brazilian employment practices and CLT requirements.
- Experience with international compensation and payroll.
- Master's degree or MBA.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Global Remuneration Professional (GRP), or related compensation certification.
- Experience within technology, telecommunications, communications, or another high-growth multi-location organization.
