Job Title: Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

Location (city, state): Charlotte, NC

Pay: $170,000–$180,000 base


Job Description:

This leadership role oversees financial planning and analysis across multiple regions, including North America and South America. The Director will act as a strategic finance partner to commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, and executive leadership teams. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality financial insights, leading budgeting and forecasting cycles, and supporting key business decisions through advanced analytics, reporting, and performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across multiple regions
  • Serve as a strategic partner to commercial, operations, and executive leadership teams
  • Analyze business performance trends and provide actionable insights on growth, risk, and profitability
  • Evaluate product and customer profitability to support margin optimization initiatives
  • Develop financial models and business cases to support strategic initiatives and new product decisions
  • Own monthly reporting packages, executive financial reviews, and variance analysis against budget and forecast
  • Provide insights on SG&A performance, cost drivers, and operational efficiency opportunities
  • Design and maintain reporting dashboards and financial models to support decision-making
  • Present financial results and recommendations in a clear, executive-ready format
  • Lead and develop a small finance team (Manager of Finance and FP&A Analyst)
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve financial processes and strengthen planning frameworks

Qualifications:

  • 12–15+ years of progressive corporate finance experience
  • Strong background in manufacturing or industrial environments required
  • Deep FP&A expertise including budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
  • Experience with commercial finance, costing, and profitability analysis strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP and Hyperion required
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; Power BI experience a plus
  • Prior leadership experience managing direct reports required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organizations preferred

Additional Details:

  • Full-time, on-site role in Charlotte
  • Typical working hours: 7–4 or 8–5
  • Some domestic and international travel required (U.S., Canada, Brazil, and occasional Europe)
  • Two direct reports initially, with potential team growth
