Alliance Resource Group has partnered with a growing nonprofit that provides free, one-on-one online tutoring and mentorship to underserved 2nd6th grade students. The organization combines trained high school and college tutors with proprietary AI technology to personalize instruction in reading and math.
The organization has an entrepreneurial, commercial mindset and is looking for someone who is business-minded, hands-on, and comfortable wearing multiple hats. The ideal candidate will be AI savvy or curious about leveraging technology to automate and streamline the finance function, allowing this role to increasingly focus on strategic initiatives as the organization grows.
Nonprofit experience is a plus, but not required. Candidates coming from startups, entrepreneurial organizations, or other environments where they have gained broad finance and operational exposure are highly encouraged to apply.
Director of Finance & Business
100% remote; majority of the team is California-base

Scope
Oversee outsourced accounting, payroll, and HR providers
Manage relationships with external audit and tax providers
Own budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and financial modeling
Develop financial analysis around growth opportunities, investments, and staffing decisions
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO
Oversee broader business operations and compliance, including insurance, contracts, child safety, data privacy, and cybersecurity
Identify opportunities to leverage AI and technology to automate and improve finance and operational processes
