Position Summary
LCH is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to lead the organization's financial operations and long-term financial sustainability. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board while overseeing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, revenue cycle performance, compliance, grants management, and finance team development.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and organizational financial analysis.
- Advise executive leadership and the Board on financial performance, risk management, reimbursement, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop financial models and business analyses to support growth and operational decision-making.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee accounting functions, financial reporting, monthly close, audits, internal controls, and cash management.
- Ensure accurate financial statements, regulatory compliance, and effective stewardship of organizational resources.
- Monitor financial performance and recommend strategies to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
Revenue Cycle & Compliance
- Provide executive oversight of revenue cycle operations, including billing, collections, reimbursement, and accounts receivable.
- Monitor key revenue cycle metrics and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with FQHC requirements, grants, federal and state regulations, and payer obligations.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead efforts to improve financial processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Support implementation and optimization of financial, revenue cycle, and reporting systems.
- Promote data integrity and effective use of financial technology and analytics.
Team & Board Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance and revenue cycle staff.
- Partner with organizational leaders to strengthen financial accountability and decision-making.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for the CEO, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive financial leadership experience with responsibility for accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and staff management.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, financial analysis, internal controls, audits, and compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and revenue cycle operations.
- Advanced proficiency with financial systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
- Experience in an FQHC, community health center, healthcare organization, or similarly regulated nonprofit environment.
- Knowledge of FQHC reimbursement, Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, federal grants, and sliding fee programs.
- CPA, MBA, MHA, Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent advanced credential.
- Experience with Sage Intacct, EHR systems, 340B programs, and value-based payment models.
