Director of Federal Sales - Public Safety Products - Base Salary to 200k/year - Washington, DC

  • Our client is a national provider of protective safety equipment and solutions serving federal government, military, law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency response, and other public safety markets. They are seeking an experienced Director of Federal Sales to lead federal government sales strategy, revenue growth, and sales team performance.
  • This is a player-coach sales leadership position responsible for managing federal and military sales while directly supporting strategic accounts and new business development. The Director of Federal Sales will oversee federal sales strategy, government contracting and procurement opportunities, pipeline management, forecasting, contract vehicle strategy, and the development of the federal sales team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage sales representatives serving federal government and military accounts, with responsibility for revenue growth and profitability
  • Develop, update, and execute the Federal Sales Plan, including federal sales strategy, territory planning, account development, and market growth initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with federal agencies, military organizations, government customers, and strategic accounts
  • Lead federal business development efforts and support the sales team in identifying, developing, and closing new government sales opportunities
  • Develop and execute federal contract strategy, aligning opportunities with applicable government contract vehicles and federal procurement requirements
  • Monitor federal procurement activity, government funding priorities, industry trends, and competitive activity to identify sales opportunities
  • Manage federal sales pipeline, opportunity tracking, sales forecasting, revenue forecasting, and business risk reporting
  • Ensure CRM adoption, data integrity, pipeline accuracy, and consistent CRM utilization across the federal sales organization
  • Develop annual territory and account plans with federal sales representatives and monitor performance against established sales objectives
  • Provide leadership and sales support on strategic federal opportunities throughout the sales cycle
  • Maintain knowledge of the public safety and protective equipment product portfolio and collaborate with vendor partners to develop solutions for government customers
  • Coordinate with internal departments including Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, IT, Customer Success, and strategic partner management to support federal customers and sales initiatives
  • Oversee sales team development and performance management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of government sales experience, including sales management or relevant senior sales leadership experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal procurement processes and government contract vehicles
  • Experience managing sales representatives and federal or government sales activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 170k - 200k range, plus bonus
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, etc.
