Director, Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP)
Pay: $141,000–$191,000 per year

Our client is looking for a senior technology leader to take ownership of their SAP landscape and steer it through its next phase of growth. About the Role

The Director of ERP will set the direction for how the company's SAP systems evolve — leading strategy, implementation, and day-to-day management across the organization. This leader will help optimize business processes, drive digital transformation, and make sure technology investments stay tightly aligned with business goals.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Strategy & Vision

• Shape and execute an enterprise ERP roadmap, centered on SAP, that supports the company's broader business objectives
• Work with senior leadership to uncover opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digital innovation
• Set and track KPIs that demonstrate ERP performance, business value, and alignment with organizational priorities

Program & Project Leadership

• Lead planning, budgeting, execution, and governance for SAP initiatives, including upgrades, integrations, and enhancements
• Guide cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, on scope, and on budget

System Health & Optimization

• Assess and strengthen SAP capabilities — including S/4HANA, FICO, MM, SD, and PP — to improve performance and the user experience
• Ensure SAP solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and compliant with applicable standards and regulations

Team Building

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing ERP team, including SAP specialists, developers, analysts, and support staff
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement

Stakeholder Partnership

• Act as the main point of contact between IT, business functions, and external partners on SAP-related initiatives
• Give executive leadership clear, regular updates on ERP performance, project status, risks, and mitigation plans

Risk & Compliance

• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks tied to SAP implementations, integrations, and ongoing operations
• Protect data integrity and cybersecurity, and ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to company policy

Operational Reliability

• Put testing, quality assurance, and change management practices in place to protect the integrity of the SAP environment
• Keep SAP systems and related business-critical services reliably available around the clock

What You Bring

Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field; master's degree preferred

Experience

• 10+ years of ERP management experience, including at least 7 years focused on SAP
• A track record leading large-scale SAP implementations, including ECC 6 and S/4HANA migrations
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or similar operational environments is preferred

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise across SAP modules, including FICO, MM, SD, PP, and WMS
• A strong understanding of how SAP integrates with third-party platforms and enterprise systems
• Working knowledge of SAP analytics tools and emerging technologies, including AI, IoT, and machine learning

Leadership Skills

• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• A strategic, results-driven leader with strong business acumen and execution discipline

Certifications (Preferred)

• SAP Certified Application Professional
• PMP or ITIL certification
