Rapidly growing world-class manufacturer providing high-quality, effective products for health and wellness is in search of a Director of Engineering who is responsible for leading engineering strategy, capital project execution, equipment standards, and automation roadmap across all manufacturing sites. This role ensures that manufacturing infrastructure, equipment, and facilities are designed and maintained to support growth, operational efficiency, and compliance in a GMP-regulated environment.
The Director of Engineering partners closely with Site Leadership, R&D/Technical, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure that new products, equipment, and processes are successfully integrated into manufacturing operations. Hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm. Salary depends on experience. Responsibilities:
Capital Strategy & Project Execution
Develop and lead a multi-year capital investment strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
Prioritize and manage capital expenditure across all sites, including equipment, facility expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
Lead major capital projects from concept through design, procurement, installation, and start-up. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance expectations.
Engineering Standards & Equipment Strategy
Establish and standardize equipment platforms, design specifications, and engineering practices across all facilities.
Develop equipment and facility standards to support operational efficiency, safety, and compliance.
Approve equipment specifications for new product introductions and process changes.
Drive consistency in engineering practices across the manufacturing network.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Work with Marketing, R&D, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory and other departments in the development of new products and other initiatives. Ensure new products are compatible with manufacturing capabilities.
Provide advanced engineering support for complex equipment and process issues.
Partner with Plant Managers and Maintenance Leaders to improve equipment reliability and asset performance.
Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and long-term solutions for recurring issues.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and labor efficiency.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through engineering design and process optimization.
Partner with Operations to improve OEE and reduce operational variability.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and develop the engineering team.
Build engineering capabilities to support future growth and increased complexity.
Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations within the engineering function.
Vendor & External Partner Management
Develop and maintain relationships with equipment vendors, contractors, and engineering firms.
Evaluate vendor capabilities and ensure alignment with company standards and expectations.
Lead selection of external partners for capital projects and engineering initiatives.
