We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead and develop our engineering team while overseeing product development, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will establish priorities, improve engineering processes, and work closely with manufacturing, operations, and senior leadership to ensure projects are completed efficiently and meet company objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily activities of the engineering team, establishing priorities, deadlines, expectations, and accountability while coaching and developing employees.
- Oversee engineering project planning and execution, translating business goals into actionable plans with defined milestones, responsibilities, and timelines.
- Establish and monitor engineering KPIs, tracking project progress, production issue resolution, and cross-functional requests while providing regular updates to leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Engineering and other departments, including Operations, Manufacturing, Quoting, and Technical Support, ensuring issues are communicated and resolved.
- Manage new product development from initial concept through production release, ensuring products meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
- Oversee engineering support for existing products, troubleshooting production issues involving tools, fixtures, drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthening engineering processes, documentation, revision control, verification/validation, and overall team efficiency.
Requirements:
- Must have bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related strong relevant experience.
- Must have 5-10 years of experience in product development or engineering roles
- Must have at least 3-4 years of experience in a team lead, project lead, or supervisory capacity.
- Must have strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals, with the ability to review designs and provide technical guidance.
- Must have experience working closely with manufacturing and operations teams, including troubleshooting production issues and supporting product releases.
- Must have demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, including assigning work, managing performance, holding employees accountable, and developing engineering talent.
- Must have strong communication, organizational, and project management skills, with experience using project-tracking tools and reporting project status or performance metrics to senior leadership
