Director – Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering (Telecom)

The Director - Outside Plant Engineering leads Multi-unit/multi-location OSP design work groups to complete the design of complex OSPE projects. This requires a broad knowledge of outside plant Construction and Design practices and standards for aerial, buried and underground facilities. Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills are also a must for this position. Also required is a familiarity with PC and software to include CAD and Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct nationwide design of Outside Plant Fiber Network      to The Home to a fully constructible job package and maintain the highest      standard of deliverables quality.
• Manage the production of efficient designs for new developments,      network construction, and network upgrades.
• Lead and develop subordinates to meet or exceed client delivery      schedules.
• Establish positive relationships with local customer      representatives and third-parties and ensure efficient processes are in      place.
• Support finance metric development, reporting and dashboard      reporting.
• Effectively      lead and provide managerial insight and direction to a technically      oriented workforce dealing with large volumes of projects driven by      dynamic customer needs.
• Maintain production efficiency objectives for all production      personnel.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Seven years      minimum of technical and management work related experience in the      telecommunications industry with emphasis on transmission methods, OSP,      optical networks, project management and direct customer interface
• Experience directly managing large and diverse teams
• Program Management experience to include Large scale projects
• Must possess      outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
• Must possess the ability to employ good troubleshooting skills and      creative problem solving abilities under pressure
• Must be willing to travel as necessary to meet with internal and      external individuals
• Experience with meeting revenue targets
• Excellent keyboard skills
